    Yao Ming's ABILITIES

I know Yao Ming is not in the game or hidden so I'm trying to create him from scratch. It's surprising since his signature shots are still in the game. I'm really disappointed that his player model didn't make the cut when a bunch of bums that shouldn't be in the game somehow makes it.

So basically I took his ratings and tendencies from 2K11. So now all I need is help with his abilities. This is what I have for now, tell me if I'm off in any areas.

    Re: Yao Ming's ABILITIES

I really hope 2K would bring him back in the future installments. A classic team with T-Mac or Steve Francis, I'll take either or.

Yao could of been top 5 centers of all time if it wasn't for the injuries.

        Re: Yao Ming's ABILITIES

Yao was a beast, a true monster at the Center position.. well, at the game he was

I remembered playing the Rockets with the classic Knicks team last year and seeing Ewing vs Yao was surreal, Ewing looked like a child out there and kept getting his shot blocked!

Really? Average in those categories? You must be from Houston.

Fades = Great? No. Maybe from the post he should be good, but those are regular shots. He should not be shooting fadeaways.

That would be dumb of them. Just think about it, if they decided to bring Yao back through classic teams you know how excited the Chinese people will be and that would just broaden the market. Sales would go up the roof just for the simple fact that Yao is back in the game.

Kinda like what MJ did with 2K11.

I mean check out the All-Star ballots these past couple of years. Yao keeps getting top votes even though he rarely played. Even T-mac was getting top votes just cause he played with Yao.

              Re: Yao Ming's ABILITIES

I think this is more realistic. I think you vastly overrated his shooting abilities. No big men in this game should have high spin jumper abilities. When have you ever seen Yao do a StepBack?

TRUE, I had a typo meant to put Good for fadeaways. I was trying to base it off Paul Gasol's Shooting who kinda plays similar to Yao. And no I'm not from Houston.

                Paul Gasol

                SHOOTING

                Fadeaway: Good
                Dribble Pull-up: Average
                Spin jumper: Average
                Stepback jumper: Average
                Runner: Good

Even though hes slow hes very agile for his size and I just taught he's equal to Gasol's shooting if not better. Thats my logic. But you're right hes more agile in the post rather than facing the basket.

Thanks for the input let me fix it.

                    What do you suggest?

                    Fadeaway: Average
                    Dribble Pull-up: Poor

He doesn't shoot stationary fade shots though. If 2K gave Pau that then 2K is just as blind as I think they are.

He should be poor in all of those shooting situations. And he should be faceup not back to basket.

If i'm not mistaken in 2K11 his play type is back to basket.

i think face up is more for players like Bosh, Nowitzki, Bargnani, big dudes that can move.

Yao can face up but he had so many moves from the post.

                        Re: Yao Ming's ABILITIES

Prime Yao was first and foremost a back-to-the-basket center. His mid-range jumpshot was excellent, but it was mostly used as the second or third option for a play.
