The level of Cheese by the CPU is rediculus

I know this kind of thread has been made countless times. Close it if you like but this is a game breaker. I can already see the typical "stop whining, lower the difficult" posers

The CPU just does whatever it takes to win. I just recently played a exhibition game where Dwight would take post shots from the key and drain em. He took 5 and didn't miss 1. While I couldn't hit mid range with Kevin Garrett

But the thing that really made me quit the game and put the controller down is the cheating on passes. Someone could be wide open, but as soon (and i mean As SOON) as you press the pass button a defender would run to the open guy. Your man would be stuck in a 3 sec long animation and TO.

The funny thing is that 2K has NEVER Publicly admit to cheating A.I. And they cant tell me the never experienced it themselves (they have to play the game right?)

The B.S is completely predictable too. You will be in a close game until something really stupid happens--and you know things are going downhill after that. Usually happens around the 3rd going into 4th where your guys get really stupid. They leave 3 point shooters open, A.I gets foul calls on their bad plays, They cant miss a thing.

I just wanted to get my thoughts out but i could go on and on and on. Once someone from 2K studios acknowledges this craziness ill be at peace. But this has been happening for 4-5 installments. And its enough for me to quit this game all together (or maybe its not)

Practice practice practice i had all this problem when i got this game when it came out but with enough practice and passing the ball with the right analog stick i dont have this problem.

Playing offline I lower the play passing lanes slider a bit and it helps.

I agree with you. And I know there are plenty of people out there to tell you how to play the game, but we're all well aware of how to play, but acknowledge that the CPU does cheat.

All of the strategy and careful gameplay is never applied by the CPU, if they need a rebound they get it, if they need a big shot they get it, if they need a turnover they get it. I was just playing a game, had an 8 point lead all of a sudden my smart shots and gameplay are no longer good enough. Nothing was going in. And of course the CPU hits everything, and the shots they miss magically get rebounded by their players and put back.

All the strategy, planning and playing smart are fine but after a while there's only so much you can do about it.

I believe everything ties into the player attributes and the tendencies. I really do, everything is way off and needs to be done.

the CPU on OA is straight cheese. causing you cant change the sliders and you forced to play this CPU teams who dont miss with anyone and intercept passes AS SOON as they are thrown. crazy. when it comes to the CPU the player's ratings are thrown out of the window they just make everything. and dont tell me to change my sliders. i play OA exclusively

This happens to me during every game.

I'm a pretty safe player. I don't go for the homerun plays unless I'm up by a large margin. So I tend to play smart for the duration of the game. My style of play DOES change at times, but not to the point of making stupid passes or taking bad shots.

Even with adjusted sliders, I still experience the come-from-behind hidden attribute only the CPU possesses.

On the defensive end, I would be in the paint holding my hands up without jumping (because if you jump in real life, you're likely to get called for a foul)...and guess what. I get called for a foul - only in the fourth quarter though. I mean, that's when it's happened. (Could be that I play more safe in the 4th quarter to avoid silly fouls.)

All in all, I like my difficulty settings and I'm still adjusting sliders a bit.

I don't see this being too much of a problem once the patch comes out though. So we'll see in a couple weeks.

I agree I can't even begin to count all the close games I lost because of the rubber band A.I it's predictable and annoying

The computer plays some truly moronic, annoying offense at times, but the only instance where I call shenanigans is on screens. How come when I'm getting screened, I always stick like glue to the cpu's screener, yet when I'm on offense, the cpu defender just slides around my screener like his not even there?

The thing that really leads to combacks are fouls and rebounds. All boards go to the cpu even if they take terrible shots.

And the fouls are probably the most frustrating. In the paint expecially, if you jump they get a layup or foul, if you dont jump (hands up even) its still a foul and easy 2 points. Nothing you can do, only to wish you dont miss shots on the other end

Yeah, this game is at a point where you can't play solid defense and win. You have to win by trying to outscore the other team. The CPU will practically assault you in the paint, and you're lucky if you get the call. You get all ball on the CPU and somehow still get whistled for the foul. As it stands now, the game is totally unbalanced and playing smart, solid basketball isn't as sound a strategy as one would think.
According to my old marketing professor, satisfaction is when product performance meets or exceeds consumer expectation.

When the cpu turns the cheese on, your players start losing the ball a lot more too. Even guys who should have great ball handling skills will bounce the ball off their own foot or lose it as they go up for a jumper. Insanity.

Just lost a online association game after a 15-0 comeback because Stuckey kept doing isomotions until he got 5 feet from the basket (even though TWO people where in front of him) then he proceeded to do a fade away contested shot on a taller defender (roy Hibbert i believe) and put his team up 1.This wouldn't be so bad if on the last play Manu hadn't been blocked by a defender who was moving AWAY from the paint and not looking at him. How is someone supposed to block a shot they can't see coming? Isn't manu a good finisher? How can i only make 4 lay ups a game but the pc makes 10-15? It magically gets past my guys without even trying and the help defense just jumps away from the guy and he makes a easy lay-up.Yet on the rare few chances that i leave my defender behind the AI magically sticks to me in mid air and knocks me down but..no foul.I thought contact in mid air while going for a lay-up was a foul...or is there some exception i don't know about? And NO i didn't run into the defense he ran into ME. I think maybe they should wait a year in between game releases. I'd rather wait and get a good game then some hastily made crap that adds new features but fails to fix the past ones. Not to mention the idiotic mistakes the new features have. Training mode in which i have to do the WHOLE training to get to the one thing i want to work on? c'mon 2k.Maybe next year you release a REAL demo and let us give you REAL feedback? hmm? Maybe?
