First of all, no need to be corny with your first paragraph. And btw, it literally took around 5 minutes, including typing the rest of the post and the title.
Second of all, stop trying to talk like a failed, out-of-shape-athlete who thinks that he should have a ESPN radio show instead of other sports jockeys and analysts who you think don't deserve their job when there is someone like you with a superior knowledge of sports... trying to deal with real life insecurities by pretending to your self that you will gain respect by typing out cliches, defending a relatively lesser known player to make your self seem like a truer fan, and using embarrassingly cornyass phrases like "twice on Sunday", "take the over", "absolutely money", and "minutes to boot." You intentionally missed the point of my whole post. Obviously there are some shooting specialists in that list, duh but 1) I said all these players and 2) again, you intentionally missed to point to you can give yourself an opportunity to type about a lesser known player to make yourself appear as if you know the imperative details of basketball.
And someone who has been on a video game forum since 2005 should never, ever, be criticizing someone for not doing something more productive with their time.
Now sit there and get mad because of this trenchant post, and keep being in denial to pretend that you not getting respected or picked on a team on any court or park in real life will be all alleviated if you somehow establish in this digital and relatively insignificant medium that you truly know even a hint about basketball.

5 minutes? I guess I should have taken the under.
Also, after reading your pseudo-analytic rant trying to dissect and belittle what you perceive to be my life, accomplishments, and how I spend my time - you probably should've chosen the word juvenile as a descriptor at the end instead of trenchant. Your post didn't cut to the core of me nor was it keen and on-point. There was no genuine insight used, just guesses, misplaced anger and horribly unpolished analysis techniques you probably learned in an introductory psych class. I've seen better insight from 11 year old emotionally and behaviorally disordered kids.
I've been practicing the most intense form of Individual and Family therapy the state-in-which-I-live live offers for the past 5 years and have been supervising a team of therapists for the past 3. If you'd like some tips on how to improve your behavioral analysis game, let me know through a PM. I'd be happy to help. It's sorely lacking.
That being said, if you have the PC version of the game, check out my roster file in the PC sub-forum. It plays pretty good. If you have a 360, check out youALREADYknow's roster. He knows what he's doing, as well as multiple other roster makes on this site. As others have said, each individual shot rating is influenced by multiple other factors including hotspots, consistency, offensive awareness, shoot-in-traffic, shoot-off-dribble (which I assume is a hidden rating this year), and possibly others. It's helpful to understand how the individual parts of the game's ratings system works together before you start complaining about it.
Kobe's shooting percentage is lower because he takes more difficult shots. He is a perennial sub-40% mid-range shooter because of forced shots and bad shot selection. He usually doesn't take wide-open 20 footers so your comparison is off to begin with.
If you don't want to listen to reason and sound explanation about how the rating system works then you just want to be right. Easy solution - jack Kobe's mid-range rating up to 99 so he can be the mid-range assassin you understand him to be. It's your game, do what you want with it.
