OKay...when we say it's broken, does that mean that its hard to use or impossible?

I've watched 100 tutorials, but I just can't get my guy to roll...

Has anyone been able to do this on a regular basis?

Also, are we never going to be able to use alt jerseys online?

How can games actually lose features from year to year?

I'm not sure what you're talking about broken. Offense plays get broken when you don't follow the design of the play properly. Maybe the guy is not supposed to "roll" in the play that you are trying to run. Maybe he is designed to pick and pop. If you're just asking about how to get your guy to pick and roll in general, look at the tutorial below. DaCzar is the best teacher out there!

I don't know who "we" is as i haven't seen this being a standing problem with 2K12 on the boards. But i do find the pick and roll more difficult this year. I think that was on purpose. I will also admit some user error at other times because i hold RB too long and get pick and pop most the time.

Had issues with it pre-patch (don't know if the patch had anything to do with it, but the spacing is much better since then, IMO).

anyway, I've found that it's easier to choose who you want to use on the Pick & Roll than to just hold L1 (or Left Bumper). If you tap L1 (LB), and then choose the person you want to use (hold one of the players' icon), it seems to work better. That way you can choose the guy that makes the most sense to run the Pick & Roll with, instead of having someone come from the side of the court with every offensive player already there.

The main things I would say are 1.) don't assume they're going to be open, and just throw the ball to them as they roll..it'll result in a turnover. and 2.) actually use the screen as a way to get to the basket, that way the CPU defender will step to you.

It is in the manual in the game. Options, controls. It is there. Read it.

It can be done, just alot more difficult. And with the delayed and crappy passing, you're more likely to turn the ball over. In my opinion, it shouldn't be as difficult as it is. I mean, is there a more simpler, more fundamental play than the pick-and roll?

By 'we' I was talking about an earlier post where someone said, and i quote "pick and roll is broken in this years game"...

I was asking, because if it's impossible, I don't have the time to spend learning how to do it, if it does not work.

I understand what the manual says and I can read, however each game clearly says press L1 for alt jerseys (online) and it does not work, so just because it's listed somewhere does not mean it works like it was supposed to.

I've watched the tutorial 100 times and just can't seem to get it...

I love the give and go and floor spacing....but I just can't seem to get the guy to EVER roll. I have never had an issue running pick and roll in a basketball game until now and one of the reasons I was asking, I have not seen one person run it online as of yet.

It's definitely harder than in past years, and that's a good thing. Pick and rolls in previous 2K games were pretty much a guaranteed dunk after you passed the ball to the roller, even if 3 guys were around that man, he'd come up with the ball and dunk or lay it in.

Now, you've really got to read the defense. Like someone else said, look to use the pick as an opportunity to get the ball-handler to the basket; the drive will force the defense to collapse and you can then kick the ball out to the wing or corner for what should be a wide-open J. You can also slow-play the pick and use it to create space for a nice mid-range J.

Getting pick-and-pops to work has been tough for me. I seem to either hold the button too long or not long enough.
