Does the CPU Ever Play Zone Defense?

I know it is not common in the NBA, but I have yet to see the AI use it. Has anyone seen the CPU run zone defense?

I haven't seen the use zone either. I haven't even seen double teams. The zone becoming more common in the NBA. The Mavericks basically own the championship because of the zone. Hopefully they can implement it more so in future iterations of the game.

Hmmm, after playin load of games in nba2k12 i have to say that i rarely saw cpu playin zone.. I think i did see it like 1-2 times in over than 200 games ive pld so far. Double team and zone defense are 2 bugs(not only ofc..) of this year's nba 2k title imo.

But that doesnt affect my excitement playing this game again and again ! ;D

I've seen it a couple times and it totally caught me off guard because the computer uses it rarely. If I remember it correctly, I was using Derrick Rose from the perimeter and doing a lot of pick and roll. Once Rose got the got the hot streak icon, the computer went into zone and I turned the ball over out of shock, lol. Whenever my post player gets going, he'll be shadowed by another defender. Sometimes, that extra defender will double, but most times he'll stay close. I don't know if that qualifies as a true "zone", but, it does seem like the computer will use more help defense in the post rather than the perimeter.

Yeah, have seen it but it is a raaaaaarity. I really feel like that no matter sim or not / top of the dif. level, CPU just plays some generic *** ball. Even on the O. I don't quite expect them to be jazzing it up every trip, no matter the side of the time line, but sometimes that ish is just too generic and straight up.

Go to coach profile, edit "Zone usage" for every team until you see it used however much you're wanting. Will take some testing though, but problem solved!

Actually, if you edit the zone defense slider it increases the chance of the teams playing the zone so I would try that if you want more zone's played aginst you. But the zone is used alot in the NBA aginst teams like MIA.

The cpu doesn't make any logical defensive adjustments in this game.
