So why doesn't anyone like the online this year?

It is fun for me. I know the casual gamer online isn't the most knowledgeable or skilled players, but it is fun competing against real players. I just make a general rule of not to play the Heat, because it really takes no skill to use them. I accidentally played one this morning and still beat them, but it was a challenge.

Anyways where is this cheesing I hear about on these boards that I don't notice online? All I notice is the constant spam of the steal button, but I always win the turnover battle. I just blow right by them when they do this too. They also get a lot of reaching calls. If your man is trying to steal everything then put your back to the basket and back him down. I guarantee you get easy reach calls. And I just switch to a zone if they do nothing but hold turbo on offense too. I just held a guy to 4 points in the paint with the Hawks.

The one thing I cannot stand is that people cannot take losses. They always have to quit or disconnect. I don't know, maybe it is me, but that is just a huge pet peeve of mine and shows me that the person has no patience and is probably a quitter in real life too. It seems like when I start blowing them out they just love to pause the game and sit there till the timer is up.

Anyways besides people abusing the steal button why don't you guys have fun playing online? I can get bored playing the CPU over and over and over.

No sliders, lag, lack of customization/flexibility in OA, servers down regularly. I have no problem with cheesers; they're easy to beat if you know the game of basketball.

I like playing online. I don't mind playing "cheesers", they are usually just people who obviously don't know any better or whatever. Even if they do know better I don't care, I still enjoy playing the game against them. It's all good fun.

I like Team Up too, even if most of the players don't play realistically. But I guess some people are just less patient with these types of players and expect others to play the same way as them or something.

Don't get me wrong, I like playing my 12 minute quarter games against my "sim" friends online, but I enjoy random matches and that type of game too. It's all fun.

I like playing online. I'm exactly like u. I wont play the heat because you absolutely need no skill to win with them. I can't play the computer because it will be predictable at times. Online, every game will not be the same and that's how I get my game up adapting to different situations.

That is understandable, but that is more of an issue with OA. I still enjoy it regardless.

              I don't like it because:

No Sliders - no fouls, reachers don't get punished!

              Fatigue is a joke!

              Controls work different online.

              Lack of control of players.

              Lag!

2K Rosters suck; to many over and underrated players, it takes a week to get players back from injuries.

Shot stick is different online than offline.

I don't like playing people who don't play sim ball and cheese to win.

No gameplay setting choices; I like playing on allstar

How many games have you played online? Less than 10 pct of my games lag. The rosters are fine and that is your opinion, but that is nitpicking. Most players play like their counterpart. You can't really take over with bad players, unless your opponent sucks. Shot stick is the same online lol. You might just have a bad connection or a strict nat type.

No one is going to run plays and shoot 90 pct mid range unless you play good defense. No one is going to take it lightly for you and not punish you for playing badly and that is why sim ballers hate online. If you don't want people to abuse the paint then do something about it. There is a counter to everything in this game. Threes are guardable and go in at a realistic rate and the paint is very easy to guard. I just don't see how it is funny playing against someone knowing exactly what they're doing and letting each other running the same plays over and over and over shooting mid range shots. If you know 2-3 good plays online you'll dominate and that is rewarding to me.

Beating someone that is trying their hardest and dominating them is very satisfying unlike playing against someone with restrictions and limitations on how you play just isn't the same, but that is just my 2 cents.

I don't see how people like last years game so much more. It was so easy to abuse the hop step, too many lead passes, and open 3's didn't go enough (from what i remember). This year you have to have stick skill and knowledge of your players to score in the paint.

Don't play the heat...it is that simple. And charges are rare in this game. Who complains about them? If they try to set charges in the open court just burn by them.

Yeah people on here tend to over react a bit though. I see less than a charge a game. Frankly I wish I would see more, especially in the paint.

I've never liked online in this game. EVER. It's a total cheese fest. 90% of people i've played think this game is NBA jam. Completely takes ALL the enjoyment of it for me.

I have MUCH better games against the cpu with tweaked sliders.

Just not as fun as last year, the whole feel. I find myself always cursing, getting frustrated. In NBA 2K11, I felt comfortable with the controls and game play, was able to stop drives to the paint. The inside game wasn't automatic. A lot of things.

People dont like online because of the things they took out in the past 2Ks.

                              -Cant use alternate jersys
                              -no HOF lobby
                              -no dnf % for opponent
-cant see opponents true record(always inaccurate)
                              -cant save most settings online
                              -cant save substitutions
                              -cant save plays

I like 2k online because I've played enough to deal with the bull that comes with playing. I can understand why many would not want to deal with a constant dose of superstar players who dont get fatigued, get away with poor shot selection, and spamming steals. Bottom line, the game lacks balance. Sure, I can stop the average Heat user because I know a few 2K tricks. Its amazing seeing how many claim they're good using a stacked team while not calling any plays, not using post moves, or running any P&R the whole game.
