If it is, I am glad to be apart of it.
I don't normally spend any time commenting on things like this when I don't have anything constructive to say, but here it goes...
The title of this thread should read, "The two worst 2k basketball players battle in the cheesiest, most repetitive game of all time".
I am sorry, but neither of you know anything about basketball other than the team with the most points wins at the end.
For those of you that didn't watch, here is a summary.
Inbound, dribble, turbo, shoot three...smash steal button, get turnover, shoot again, smash steal button, alley oop, smash some more steal button, shoot immediately, don't pass the ball EVER, just shoot...etc...
There was no more than one pass per possession. How is that great?
I wouldn't have wasted time responding if this wasn't something that affected me AND the sim community directly. We get punished for players playing like this because online takes precedent over offline nowadays, and they change/cater the game to suppress people from playing stupid smash buttons type of basketball, while they could focus on other things. Ever heard of a pick and roll? I almost feel bad for you because this game has so much to offer that you will never recognize (running real plays, court spacing, passing to create shots, POST GAME, defense, etc), yet you chose to do the same thing every play, and that's exactly why I will never play online.
So, since your thread title has a question mark, my answer is no...that was not the greatest online finish in 2k history, it was one of the worst.

Tell him how you really feel lol!
Yeah, that was more like an Charity All-Star game.

Thanks for saving my time, exactly what I was about to write. This video made me sick and reminded me once again why I don't play online, people just don't know anything about basketball.
Worst ending in 2k history. Why would the clippers user foul with 5 seconds left and give GState 2 free throws to tie the game?? Makes no sense. You have to play D on that possession and get a stop. I can see the strategy if you were up by 3 to make it a free throw shooting contest but not with a 2 point lead. It looked to me like this was two friends recording a game and trying to make "The greatest online finish in 2k history".
I respect all your opinions, and I'm sorry you all feel this way. I didn't think I was going to be roasted for what I had thought was a great finish. You all pointed out the bad things in the game. This is usually how my friend and I play. I just wanted to record something and put it on Youtube.
I can't fathom how you guys put up that amount of points in a 20 minute game. Incredible.
Believe it or not, this is the norm for online ranked matches with basketball players in general. All the complaints you read about here... this is the other side to that coin.
Just an average online game with bad defense, offball, steal spamming, rage pausing, and a random replay for no reason.
Pressing x is a good strategy in this game. At 16 sec the Clippers user gets a canned steal that I've seen too many times in this game.
How is it that when the ball is on the left side of the offensive players body, someone can try to steal from the left side and somehow knock the ball loose without a foul call. On top of that, the offensive player cant go for the ball because he's stuck in the same animation everytime.
No defense whatsoever haha. And I believe the reasoning behind fouling Curry with 5 seconds left was because the Clipper user thought he would miss free throws again after missing both with Curry last time. Somewhat entertaining but neither player was really skillful though the person controlling the Clippers was plain AWFUL.
To me it only made sense to foul so HE could control the outcome, not sit back and actually have to play defense to seal the win. Just going by the offensive explosion evident the rest of the game...
