Quote:
There is no size up button, where you start a hoppy animation first. You create your own size up with the Dribble stick.
That's fine for User gameplay, but it means a possible step backwards until we know what tendency, animation package, and AI changes have been made that allow CPU controlled players to sizeup and break down defenders realistically. Without Sizeup/Hesitation, we would need an entirely different dribble tendency method for determining standing dribbles versus dribble penetration moves for CPU controlled players. Better yet, we're at the point where customized dribble setup animation packages should be in-game.

As usual early in the news cycle, attention is focused on what the User can do and not on what the other 9 players on the court are able to do. Probably going to have to wait until release to get real news on the AI/CPU front.

He talked about the player models and get got me excited for CAP!

Rob also told me if you're on a break by yourself you can press the Alley Oop button combination while pulling your left stick towards the hoop and you will be able to do an Off the Backboard Alley Oop to yourself, but its very risky, and you need a player who can pull it off. If you pull the stick towards a player near you, it will do an off the backboard oop to them instead.
wow

Nice! I'm loving this part!

I've always felt like I wasn't rewarded for playing good defense, but in 2K13, you can direct the offensive player in a direction without getting stuck in animations. Charges have been tweaked to reward you for being in the right spot, but we didn't see one during my time playing. The steals and block systems have been tweaked to be more consistent. One sequence happened where Dwayne Wade was trapped under the basket, he still went up for a forced shot into the body of Serge Ibaka, and I"Block"a literally swallowed the ball up as he blocked it, caught it in air and landed on his feet for the outlet. The enitre sequence looked so smooth and seamless.

I love when articles or previews have examples from the experience. it encourages me that the incident occurred and was not regurgitated information from producers.
