My philosophy has always been let the star player kill you....so long as you shut down his teammates. Sometimes that's all you can do to ensure the win.

Rondo does not have a jumper. So long as you don't leave him WIIIIIIIIIDDDDDDDEEEEE open from mid-range he shouldn't be killing you with jumpers.
In regards to him having a 99 rating though, they failed to take into account that he's usually taller than the guy guarding him (same with durant). You don't need a 99 shooting rating to shoot well over smaller defenders. You could give Dirk an 85 mid jumper and still shoot lights out, esp since he's great at the fadeaway.

Dirk is a bad example for this discussion however because his mid range shot has been phenomenal, and if not rated 99 the lowst you could probably go is like 95

Rondo can actually shoot a little bit in real life. His jumper is just inconsistent and has a long release, but he can drain em sometimes. That playoff game against Miami where he put up 40+ comes to mind. He should be in the high 60's for 3 and midrange imo, with low consistency.

Since Mike Miller had been relegated to the role of spot up shooter the problem is he doesn't get setup looks as frequently from midrange like he does from 3pt land. His mid range shots now are usually contested last second shots or because he faked out a defender on the 3pt line and is shooting off the dribble. Same is usually true for most these guys you see with high 3pt and low mid.

With that said, he only had one bad season from midrange.

But giving somebody like Wes Matthews a 56 for mid range is a bit extreme and quite frankly insulting lol. If Wes gets open squared jumper looks from 18 feet, he will make more than 29% guaranteed. He should be no lower than 65. These are NBA players we are talking about.

Kobe shot like 38-40& from mid-range so he shouldn't have a 84, he should just have a 72-74 with a high SIT.
Just an EX.

The current system is 25-100.

It used to be 50-100.

So I really don't know what he was trying to say. Don't tell me I knew what he meant because I didn't and clearly, neither did he
