What if the MyPlayer mode in 2K13 is a bust, like 2K12 was?

I wanted to make this thread for weeks now, haven't seen any so I guess it's alright to create it.


I'm really anxious and looking forward to the MyPlayer mode in 2K13. I know the details are going to be released in a matter of weeks:

But what if... what if this mode is as horrible as it is right now in 2K12? I loved MyPlayer in 2K11 and I felt like I could control the game and be an important factor but this wasn't the case in 2K12 and there were many many many other problems/bugs/glitches that made it impossible to play. Excruciating is a word that comes up. I know there are people who like the MP mode in 2K12 but if you're realistic and compare it to 2K11, it isn't all that and it's actually much weaker.

I really hope, this game delivers and the MP mode works properly. Because imho this is the funnest part of the game. Making your own player, controlling him and doing work.

I like the improvements they made last year with the salary and such. I hope they can mix the gameplay of 2K11 and the fun parts of 2K12 and make it a great mode in 2K13.



I also think it's important for 2K to get this right IF they want to bring back crew. MP has to be fun. I'm actually getting this game again because of this mode.

My Player is what I spend most of my time playing on NBA 2K12. But like you said 2K11 had a better MP. I liked how on 2K11 you had to actually earn your spot on the team.

If it does NOT have custom sliders once again, then it IS a bust in my eyes.

This is the only offline mode I play, and I always quit near the end of year 1 once I realize I have no sliders to correct shooting % and other AI realism issues...

I only pray they've finally corrected this glaring issue..

nah the my player in 2k12 was the best. once you started getting all the endorsements and stuff things got exciting and you felt like a celebrity.

I consider Myplayer mode as a broken mode and even though I have played it a little it gets old very quick. I hope they make significant improvement on the AI, to make you feel you're part of a real team and not surrounded by zombies.

If it hasn't improved I probably won't touch it this year.

My player in 2k12 wasn't a bust and I think it will only be better in 2k13.

If you play MP mode 80% or more of the time (I play it 100% of the time) get it on PC. You can have custom sliders, custom rotation minutes, can have custom season length. It's just way better on PC with all the mods and stuff from nba-live website. There is just no way I could play it on console with all the stuff you can't do and having to play out of your mind just for your team to win.

I hope my player can go online in some capacity this year and that we can choose to sim key games as well. Even if it is just pickup games I would be happy

Come on man, you for real? I don't want to turn this into a thread to tell what went wrong but if you have played the MP mode in 2K11 well its different compared to 2K12. In 2K12 wide open shots bounce off the ring even when you have +90 in everything. Maybe more realistic but if I have a 90 overall and my mid and 3 point rating are high I want to be able to shoot like Kevin Durant/Melo/Lebron and go 60% from the field with ease and not see everything bounce off.

Do you play on PC or anything?

hate to be real but if its a bust you can just play the other 8 game modes until patch releases

if shots bounce off wide open , then thats a gameplay issue and not the my player modes fault. The mode itself was better than 2k11 with all the feautres actually having your salary matter and all that stuff.

I wouldnt call 2k12s version a bust because when you played it the way 2k12 was meant to be played and not like 2k11 it played like a dream. The subtle differences in gameplay really made you adjust and obviously it made somethings harder or faultier than in 2k11...rebounding being one, at least for me.

I will admit I was frusterated with My Player in 2k12 only when I tried to do the things I could do in 2k11. But when I was just relax and remember how this game was set up, I enjoyed it a lot. Granted controllers were still thrown lol

What NBA player has come even close to shooting 60% from the field that wasn't a big man? Lol sounds like you like 2K11 cause you aren't as good at 2K12.

Very few....maybe a pass first PG like Kidd or Nash. Jordan had a season in the high 50s if I recall correctly. But not many "smalls" have super high percentages
