I Really Hope You Can Change The Dunk Contest To The Way It Was The Last 3 Years

Im talking about how you do the dunks, cause if the lil guitar hero **** is the only way, I will not play this mode. I think 2k forgot that nobody liked dunk contest modes in the 90's because of the guitar hero like button pressing to pull off the dunks, when Live went to the actual process of dunking realtime in the dunk contest people actually started to like the mode, and when 2k added it I loved it also, blacktop mode was not popular because it was dont in the street, not because it was too hard to pull off dunks.

Nobody wants to have a dunking system like that, I was fine with how it was the last few years even though I aint play it much, I had no problem pulling off the dunks and appreciated that my input mattered while the player was in the air. I REALLY hope 2k gives the option to use the old style, cause it will get corny quick the way they have it now.

I doubt they would have two different control schemes.

I have no idea of how it will feel to play cause I've only seen two short clips. Gonna be interesting to try.

Well, if you dont like the controls, then don't talk about it. The Guitar Hero controls are perfectly fine. Choose a dunk, then press the buttons like Guitar Hero. Oppose to 2K11, move sticks and do a dunk that you don't know or a repeated dunk. I think GH style is better. I'm thinking there will be pages of dunks do from and I think the GH style will actually help increase the amount of dunk, I mean, have you seen the trailer where I think Dominique dunk over 4 bending down people? I haven't even seen that in real life, yet it's a possible dunk that anyone can do in the dunk contest in real life.

It makes no sense to have a style that has nothing to do with the dunk/action on the court. You mean to tell me that you would rather choose a dunk and execute random *** buttons than actually control what a dunker is doing in the air?????

Yeah. In the All Star Slam Dunk Contest, a lot of dunks are made within the first try. I wanna know what Dunk I wanna do right away rather then try all the different stick combos to get what I want, and I want to succeed a lot.

exactly the random combos, time it right, do it in mid air was stupid. It wasn't fun at all, i really tried to get into the mode and never figured out how to do it properly because you would have to put too much time into it, by then the mode was boring and dull. Plus giving a kid the controller he would probably never figure it out, but with this new system casual people can pick it up easily, and that's more important.

Are you kidding me? I was 9 when I played the 2005 NBA live, and trust me the dunk contest was superb, in fact it was the mode that everyone loved. The guitar hero controls have NO point or relation into anything with the dunk contest. If it was guitar hero controls that synchronized WHILE you're doing the dunk would be better. But pressing random buttons that does not synchronize or relate to anything within the dunk is pointless.

In live, you had to gather, perform your move and time it. It wasn't even all that hard, it was fun, it was very replayable, and even that dunk contest where you had to verse another player to get the high score was fun as well. You won't get anywhere with this gh control

I think the complication of the previous system is being overstated. I also think there's a reason any move a person wants to pull off during a real game of NBA 2K13 requires a specific button input that directly corresponds to what the player is doing on the floor... because it makes sense.

For instance, to complete a hesitation crossover to spin to Euro-step to reverse layup, players must press the buttons that are specifically used to complete that move. It's not a matter of properly clicking random buttons that have nothing to do with what we're completing on screen.

So, to be honest, I can't really seen how this criticism of 2K13's dunk contest controls can be received as being outlandish. I do not believe it's too far-fetched for players to want to be able to control the action they're seeing on screen. And as it appears now, they could just as well throw math questions at us in lieu of guitar hero buttons and as long as we answer them correctly, our player will complete the funkiest dunk possible. There'd still be a cause and effect, but like the random GH buttons, we forfeit all sense of process and accomplishment. And for many, controlling the outstanding action taking place on screen is the whole point of gaming in the first place.

Agree, and if memory serves me right the difficulty affected the timing on dunks and how much time you had. 2k could have done the same thing.

I understand trying to make it user friendly but this isn't the way to go.
