    NBA 2k13 isoMotion PROBLEM!

I was watching the heat vs lakers gameplay ign dropped yesterday. And I noticed in this video http://m.youtube.com/watch?feature=m...&v=8Ka1DHlMr-Q if you go to 9:20 sec mark d wade starts dripping with the right stick and as he does that he loses stamina.

I feel that You shouldn't lose stamina until u press the sprint button. I'm a street ball player and a do lots of stationary tricky mOves and i don't get tired... and in 2k13 that with effect if u make a contact lay up or not, because u used all ur energy just doin stationary crossovers. I think that lil aspect of the game should be removed!

Or a feature that's be added to the game. U do more advanced crossovers if u hold to right trigger and use the right stick moves. And if u don't hOld the right trigger and do moves u just do calm through the leg dribble moves... If that makes sense

Doing loads of dribble moves is obviously going to tire you out somewhat, this thread is a bit ridiculous.

I definitely think it depends upon what kind of moves we're referring to. It honestly does not take a lot of stamina to dribble around in place, even if a person is crossing over and doing neat moves. Me sprinting from the three point line to the rim takes a lot more energy out of me than attempting various dribbling maneuvers without going anywhere.

That said, I don't know how the stamina system works in 2K13. If stamina is affected by stationary moves, it might not be very realistic, but I understand it. For years, that has been a video game's equalizer that discourages players from just just toggling the dribble stick over and over and over again until something opens up. The only other alternative way to discourage such play would be to increase the risk of losing control of the ball if a player does enough moves in a row, but I'm not sure if that'd be terribly realistic either.

Well that's what I was just going to mention, even if it standing doing some simple dribble moves might not tire you out all that much they still need to balance it in some way.

But really from that clip, it looks fine. It goes down a little bit when he starts doing dribble moves and running about, that's fine by me.

I love it this way. Remember this is a videogame and it should be well balanced. And with the amazing new control system we have I don't want people turning games into AND1 shows.

Believe it or not, there are in fact some traits that carry over. Tempo, speed, ability and tons of other aspects are obviously incomparable. However, crossing over in place without a defender actively pursuing would still be crossing over in place without a defender actively pursuing.

Again though, to reiterate, I understand why 2K would make the player tire from dribble moves. Many games have done this before and I don't think 2K13 will be the last. Without some sort of deterrent, some gamers would just flutter that right stick all over the place until something good accidentally happened. I'm just saying, at the specific point the original poster is talking about (9:00 minute point of video) Dwyane Wade is more or less standing still and rocking the ball back and forth and losing stamina along the way. There's nothing that unique about the NBA that'd make Wade lose stamina in a situation like that but not a streetball player. So in that way, sometimes all forms of basketball have things in common.

They should have added a trait that made you lose half as much stamina when doing stamina consuming movements like sprinting or dribbling, so high stamina people can do what they are doing for longer periods.

But it doesnt take a rocket scientist to see its there so people cant abuse it. Imagine someone just standing there dribbling until the opp makes a mistake or gets sucked into an animation.

Want to stand there dribbling with fatigue not being a factor, turn up the slider or turn it off.
