    -Coaches in NBA 2k13-

I love the news coming out so far for NBA 2k13. Some things I'd like to know about the coaching is what effect will they have on the game? Clearly coaching is huge in the NBA and certain coaches have a profound effect on their teams ability to win. Guys like Thibadeau in Chicago, Popavich in San Antonio, Rivers with the Celtics, Scotty Brooks in OKC, and George Karl in Denver. Then you have coaches who cost their teams wins like SVG in Orlando, D'Antoni in NY, and Vinny Del Negro in LA. When I play 2k12 I don't feel like the coaches make any difference. They all coach the exact same way. Even during simulation, you can't tell that a bad coach was fired and a coach with a Strait "A's" was hired. There should be a change in whatever area of coaching that he is an "A" in.

Also with this being the 3rd year of having the Legends being heavily represented in the game, I'd love to see them added to the coaching carousel. We should be able to ask Scottie Pippen or John Stockton to come be our coach. Or even better allow us to hire recently retired players (guys like Grant Hill, Jason Kidd, or Kurt Thomas) when they retire.

And last but not least, I'd like to see the ability to promote assistant coaches to a head coaching role. There is nothing more frustrating than when I'm in the middle of an association and a guy like D'Antoni gets fired mid season and I can't replace him with his real assistant as they do in real life. I have to hire Gordon Jenkins. The guy who has a black guys name, an Asian guys profile picture, but he is an old white guy during the game.
Side note: I don't think there are many Asian coaches in the NBA, why are there so many available in the coaching pool?

      Re: -Coaches in NBA 2k13-

What's annoying is that some particular coaches get fired because of 1 or 2 bad seasons (mainly due to bad roster), and respectively so, but there are some coaches that I think are "un-fireable" if you know what I mean. Examples include Gregg Popovic and Doc Rivers.

The rule of thumb is, if you are the coach of a championship team, then the franchise should be more reluctant to fire you, and instead, should be offering contract extensions.

In 2k12, after the 5th year in Association mode, there are about 90% coaching changes in the league.

I just hope coach mode is fixed in this years game.

It's coach only mode where you call the plays and the players execute it on their own. Last year, you were only able to call quick plays in coach mode. You couldn't call player specific plays like you did if you were playing the game.

Ah yes, the infamous Rick Aldeman glitch. I'll never forget the first time I saw that. I thought I was seeing things lol.

So true, this also brings up a major gripe that I forget about and have never read any complaints about from others who play association mode. Each team has $10Mill allocated to pay the staff, and most teams are under that cap. But then there are teams like the Celtics and Spurs who can't make any staff moves until the head coaches contract is up. Or the Bulls who have to wait 3yrs until their D-rated trainer wraps up his $5million per year contract. It makes no sense.
