    The Shot Modifier

Thank god there's a demo....after years of 2k this shot modifier is going to get some taking used to, lol. This is definitely a big change (for me at least)

I think my biggest two concerns are put backs and catch and shoots. I just imagine it being it being super awkward holding down LT and reacting in these quick situations...

I envision a lot of crossovers under the basket to start my 2k13 season off, lol. How do you guys feel about it?

I feel the same way. It'll take some getting used to, but thank God for the demo! I can see myself turning the ball over A LOT in my first game just by playing with the controls alone, but I'm sure with practice they will be 1000x better than 2k12's controls, which were great.

i remember someone saying there's an alternate control scheme where you can switch LT+R to dribbling and R alone to shooting. hopefully this is correct and we can use it in the demo.

The devs said they purposely set it up this way for a reason. I'll trust their judgement and get used to it eventually.

I'm thinking about switching it so LT + rightstick is for dribbling. But I'd rather stick with the default.

Neat way to think about it .

I see me busting out crossovers accidentally when I have a wide open 3 in the few first games haha. But the isomotion on the right stick is looking dopeeee. My isomotion is good to begin with anyways, once I learn this liked I learned 2K12 stick tape ya ankles fellas!

Also the fact I'll be playing with Deron and his wicked crossover to makes it worse

I didn't care for it. It makes more sense to me to have LT+R stick for dribble moves, but I am not a big ISO move guy anyways plus you still get basic dribble moves with just the left stick. I had many times I went for a dunk, layup, or jumper to only end up doing a crossover. Lol! It's retraining mind is all, but after trying it I am excited to try the alternative as for me it makes more sense for my gaming style...

but the real question is, will it be smooth in game? we can only wait and see.

I've always used a mix of the shot stick and the "x" button to shoot. I hated the isomotion controls. They were too complicated unless you put in the time to actually learn how they all come together...For me, I'm an avid basketball video gamer, but I just didn't have the time to dedicate to learning the complications of isomotion. I've also always played both Live and 2K and have been waiting for the day 2k finally changed over from shot stick to dribbling with the stick...It felt more natural to dribble with the stick. Looking forward to the change!

Doesn't 2k12 have an alternate control scheme where you use the right stick for dribble moves? Has anyone tried that scheme in 2k12 to see how it works? I may do that when I get home..
EA and 2k have the unfortunate task of trying to balance on a tightrope of fun and sim while trying not to fall 10,000 feet to their death. Instead of a safety net waiting down below there will just be angry customers quick to move out of the way and talk of their failure.

I'll be OK as far as catch and shoot because I've always used the square button (PS3) for jumpers.

But lay ups, step back, fade aways, etc I use the stick. So I'm sure I'll have a few of those instances early on when I try to break Bosh's ankles with Ibaka instead of shooting a lay up like I intended.
