2K13 Signature Skills- Who Wins Out?

With 31 Signature Skills added to the 2K series this year. Which Signature Skill will win out. Will a Lockdown Defender sig. stop an Ankle Breaker sig. Will a Finisher sig. dunk on a Defensive Anchor. I wonder how all this will work or will it just add cheese to the game. Will Lebron's Chase Down Artist sig. ruin your fast breaks with a lesser known player with no sig. or even with a Highlight Film sig. like a Blake Griffith dunk. I've seen this already on 2k12 when i can have a PG like John Wall who is one of the fastest guards in the league by himself on a fast break only to not be able to do a simple layup or dunk because Lebron had chased him down and you done pressed the shoot button only to pump fake and not go up. Will a Pick Pocket sig. average 5 steals a game by button mashing with fouls being called less on that person because of his Signature Skill. How would you guys break it down? Does the higher rated player overall win these types of challenges, the better known player or do you just charge it to the game.

Not to say Signature Skills won't have an impact...but it seems a lot of you guys seem to be expecting some form of exaggerated gameplay based off of them.

I want to know if I go eg/ 3pt specialist SG and have a 99 3pt shot, do I still obtain a % boost on my shot if I have corner specialist as a sig skill? Or if I'm defensive play style with 99 steal, will pick pocket help me get on ball steals boost?

Or is the idea to select sig skills that contradict your play style? I'm keen to know, thanks.

You will still get a boost. You want sig skills that highlight your strengths.

I suggest everyone read the list of signature skills and their "boosts" before getting too much into this.

Keep in mind a 99 3PT rating would still equate to about a 50% 3PT shooter on "A"-quality shots. Being a corner specialist as well would make it like a 55% 3PT shooter on "A"-quality shots. That rating and that sig skill can interface, but it is not going to make a player perfect from long range. Maybe the release window is wider, but you will still need to time a shot after getting open enough to take an "A"-quality shot.

As far as who wins out in some matchups, I would say it depends on the sig skills. A lockdown defender supposedly neutralizes offensive sig skills, so a finisher would not receive his 30% boost. Instead, it would be as if the two players had no boosts, and it would be decided as any make/miss/foul under the basket scenario.

Exactly. So for a pick pocket, you will have a higher strip probability and lower foul probability. Combined with defensive specialist and 99 steal, it validates your ability to make steals. But that doesn't mean that you will always be successful or never be called for fouls.

            Pick Pocket
Example Players: Jeremy Lin, Ricky Rubio, Mike Conley
An on-ball thief adept at stealing the ball from players attempting dribble moves. There are three perks to having this skill:
            1. Significant increase in strip probability when offensive player is in an iso-motion move.
            2. Minor increase in strip probability when offensive player has been in a standing dribble for a couple of seconds.
            3. Lowered foul chance when attempting an on-ball steal.

As always, offense will drive the game. That's not to say the defensive sig skills won't be strong, but there are more offensive sig skills and more situations to use them. That's what I think it will be all about, situational use.

The player who uses the skills with the right guy is going to outplay the guy using them incorrectly.

I'm just worried I'm gonna see guys abusing it somehow. Like someone using the Clippers, and using CP3's dimer ability. This person will literally make sure CP3 touches the ball and passes it to a teammate shooting just so their percentage will go up.
