Am I the only one that doesn't think Lebron Jame's headband isn't worth this bug or that feature? It seems they have their priorities all mixed up.

Is 2K focussing on the wrong things?
The past few years, it seems that 2K is focussing on the wrong things for their game. Instead of polishing their gameplay and testing for bugs, they'd rather have a custom shoe maker. Instead of giving us a crew mode, they'd rather put Justin Beiber in the game.

Re: Is 2K focussing on the wrong things?
Judging solely on the demo, gameplay is as good, if not better than it's ever been. It seems their main focus this year has been MyCareer and gameplay.
So no, I don't agree. -
Re: Is 2K focussing on the wrong things?
NBA 2k is fine. My issue is what they are doing to other sports franchises (mostly EA Sports).
2k puts Jordan and then other legends in their game. The user is allowed to recreate their career or specific moments from their career.
The fans love it.
EA Sports see this and decides to run with it. NCAA Football puts in the Heisman Challenge and includes several past greats. Madden 13 also decided to include legends.
I hate it.
What EA fails to realize is that 2k is able to do this because their game is otherwise excellent. Legends are icing on the cake.
What EA is doing is putting icing on bread and calling it a cake.Comment

Re: Is 2K focussing on the wrong things?
Unfortunately it is EA's fault for 2k polishing stuff they care about (making money) no one wanted FIFA's ultimate team in the game but it's a big money maker... Crew is not a money maker (will be if it's DLC)... They look to have worked hard on Game play and CPU AI which was highly important.Comment

Re: Is 2K focussing on the wrong things?
I'm usually welcome to new additions, as long as they don't veer off course. I'm not sure I'm liking the celebrity involvement though, it's just weird. I sure as hell don't care about Bieber, The Shoe Creator is dope though, and people have been asking for this for a while. The past few years, it seems that 2K is focussing on the wrong things for their game. Re: Is 2K focussing on the wrong things?
You serious? This is the year that they've actually improved the gameplay by developing a whole new control system. Sure, they made new post controls last year, but the control stick is bigger. They're adding this superficial stuff because they can.Twitter: @TyroneisMaximus

Re: Is 2K focussing on the wrong things?
I wish they didn't include the celebrity team, I don't feel to need to play with celebs.
Just look how much work they put into Justin Bieber, they could have been working on Norris Cole's/Kevin Durants/... head instead.

Re: Is 2K focussing on the wrong things?
If you played the demo you can tell the amount of work that was put into 2k13, they've fixed physics, they got rid of a lot of canaminations, the control stick is amazing and they finally have proper foot planting and momentum. The demo plays and looks like real basketball.
These guys have been working on this game since 2k12's release date, they haven't stopped working and I guarantee they are working on 2k14 now. From what Da Czar has said the devs won't leave the office sometimes. Just because crew didn't make it or whatever else you feel should have been in the game, doesn't mean you can jump on here and dismiss the improvements they've made and the hours they've put in.
I swear you guys are just ridicules, if one or two things didn't make it into the game the game as a whole is a fail.Last edited by jersez; 09-28-2012, 05:45 PM.ARE YOU LOOKING FOR YOUTUBE CHANNELS DEDICATED TO THE SIM COMMUNITY CLICK THE LINKS BELOW, AND SUBSCRIBE FOR ALL SIM CONTENT.

I am not liking the celebrity involvement either but do the celebrities come at the expense of other things? I don't think so.I'm usually welcome to new additions, as long as they don't veer off course. I'm not sure I'm liking the celebrity involvement though, it's just weird. But to me it seems as if 2k feels that they have a pretty good grip on the sim style gamer so maybe this year they are trying to bring in more casual gamers without taking away from the game's foundation. Like they are trying to trick casual gamers into thinking this is a casual basketball game.

Re: Is 2K focussing on the wrong things?
I rather have them work on the foundations/basics and then add all the fun gimmicks like the celebrity game.
Makes sense no?
Look they haven't even added the new Phoenix Suns court (they get this info ahead of time) in the game but all the Celeb players are there. I rather see it the other way around.Comment
