Shot stick or shoot button?

With the dribble control stick being implemented this year which method are you guys using to shoot? I find myself using the shoot button (square on ps3) just cause having to press L2 with the shot stick doesn't seem all that fluid for me. I use to always shoot with the shot stick in past games but this year shooting with the button works better with the new control stick imo.

Depends, I tend to use the button when shooting open 3s or going for a dunk, and the stick when I'm breaking my man down or when I'm going for a lay up... And I use both for different situations in the post..

It does feel unnatural using LT +right stick to shoot. I don't know why they didn't just leave the dribbling skill moves with LT + left stick and the right stick to shoot. It was much easier to control that way.

I started out using X on xbox but now I'm using the right stick after changing it in the control settings.

Shot stick unless I'm a foot from the rim, then I use the button.

I'm using the shoot button in every scenario, except for in the post. Sucks tho because sometimes I'll set up a nice pick n roll and flick the stick, instead of actually shooting.

weird but all of a sudden my hands are now adapted to holding the LT now when i shoot..so weird how the muscle memory works with the human body....Man i was so mad two days ago about the control, now im right at home with it.

Now that i have learned this new way of shooting, i can no longer go back..

i always use the shooot button to shoot exept when i shoot with jason kidd for sum reason i can only get his shot down with the shot stick

Im not gon lie I unboxed the game played a few quarters and realized the new controls were horrible.

Then out of nowhere something amazing happened...it just became second nature to use L2 to shoot.

if u like using the shot stick u can just switch it back. Isomotion will then be LT and RS.

If you want to get used to the shot stick, just practice shooting for an hour straight. You'll get used to it after awhile.

2k13: less use of shot stick?

sup guys. with the new controls and especially the re-addition of the hop step button, i find myself using the shot button (x) more and more now. in 2k12, it was pretty much all shot stick. i've also noticed that with dunks and layups, the animation is much more smooth using the shot button. a lot of times if you use the stick, your player ends up warping into the lane a bit before the animation. how about you guys?

Yea same here. The only time I use the stick is with jump hooks, otherwise I using the shoot button.

Sometimes on the fast break, on a wide open three, or after an offensive rebound, I forget and just use the right stick to try and put the ball back in.

When I try to run a play, I use the stick after several dribbles for a jump shot. For pick&rolls and open layups, I use the shot button.

When I post up, I always use the stick in every attempt to be fancy ala Hakeem Olajuwon-style.
