    Post-up Offense Issue.

I just played a game as the Memphis Grizzlies and had a persistent, and very strange issue. I posted Randolph up on Griffin. I initiated the post-up offense controls and started to back him down. No spins or moves, just a straight up back down. Randolph starts pushing him back, then whistle, they call a charge on Randolph. I was shocked, thinking I somehow misunderstood what happened. So the very next possession I post up Randolph on Griffin again. Start backing him down, no control stick, just straight post up, again a whistle and another charge call. This happened to me on 7 calls over the course of the game.

What am I missing here? Again, so I am clear, all I did was select Randolph post-up, he establishes position, I pass him the ball, press Y to initiate the back-down, start backing him down toward the basket, no control stick, no speed burst, and bam, phantom whistle for a charge. Randolph was charged with 4 charges doing just this, Gasol 2, and Speights 1. I had to completely abandon any post game, which is the Grizzlies' offense, because of these absurd calls. Has anyone else experienced this at all?

The only time I got a call for charging posting up someone was when that player flopped on me. What you describe sounds like a bug which I hope is a rare one...

I thought that is what was happening and since I was playing against the Clippers, it fit. The problem was it kept happening. Randolph had three fouls early in the second quarter and completely shut down my offense. When Randolph went out, I posted up Gasol and had the same thing happen. It drove me absolutely nuts! I'm not one to throw my controller, but I had to fight a serious urge.

              Re: Post-up Offense Issue.

I had it happen against the Lakers, against a human opponent, that was manually defending against my post-up play, without him manually inputting the flop.

I've also seen the "pull-the-chair" animation repeatedly against various other teams. The problem is that you can't really anticipate it from any kind of input response, so there isn't really any adjustment I could make other than abandoning all post offense. It's not like I'm jamming a bunch of buttons while posting up. Just Y, left stick toward basket, no speed burst. It's either a charge, or the player just falls down turning over the ball and it has happened several times a game.

I've seen it less in the last couple of matchups, but only because I am hesitant to initiate the post offense. This problem seriously negates several teams biggest advantage, and seems to just happen randomly with no rhyme or reason. If it is a result of the CPU flopping, it is way too effective.

What difficulty/settings are you using and how many minute quarters?

I just played two full 12 minute quarter games on Pro/Sim, one as the Heat(me) @ Nets and the other was Lakers @ Celtics(me). In the 1st game I ran my halfcourt offense through Lebron in the post and never saw this issue. I never saw it all, in either game and went to Bosh, Haslem, Garnett, Bass, Rondo, and Pierce pretty often.

I have not player the Clippers yet...

I've had it happen on pro and all star, with the quarters set from 5-8 minutes. I've had it happen while using the Grizzlies and Thunder. I haven't played more than two dozen games, but have had it happen every game. It was definitely the worst against the Clippers and Lakers, but was still consistently happening against other teams. I am a post-offense heavy player, and never had this issue in any 2K title and I've played every single one of them going all the way back to the Dreamcast days. I'll try to note the specific instances so I can have a more scientific assessment.

"Flop City" Griffin said to his teammate DeAndre Jordan when he heard the news about the Chris Paul trade.

Another post issue - 2 times I've gotten the defender in a 3 second violation while being posted up on him.

I just realized it wasn't set to simulation, and that has toned it down A LOT. I should have gone into those menus. Completely forgot.
