since this summer, when New Orleans won the lottery for Anthony Davis, I decided that the Hornets were going to be my first Association. A rebuilding franchise that is trying to recover from the loss of Chris Paul, and addition of NPOY/Gold Medalist rookie Anthony Davis made this an easy choice.
The owner of the Hornets, Tom Benson, just purchased the organization in April. In my scenario, Benson appointed me as his GM to take over all personal decisions.
However in June with the 10th pick in this years draft, the Hornets selected Austin Rivers. Never been a huge believer in 'Sub Zero' and disagree with who they are surrounding the face of the franchise with. Both Rivers and Gordon are undersized, trigger happy, two guards, who are more known for scoring than getting others involved and playing good defense.
I feel Davis has the potential to be the next Bill Russel and want to build my team around his defense. Rivers is a SG in a PG's body and his biggest weaknesses (involving teammates/making others better, and commitment on the defensive end) totally clash with my new philosophies that I want to instill in my new look Hornets.
In my aforementioned scenario, I would have never drafted Rivers with the intention of keeping him.
Here is where you guys come in: what combination of players would I have to give up to potentially land Rondo from the C's?
Rivers, Gordon and a draft choce?
Rivers, Gordon, and a combination of the Hornets prospects, like, Aminu, Ryan Anderson, X Henry, R. Lopez?
Looking for a realistic trade that benefits both teams. Comments and ideas are appreciated!
Thank you!
