2k12 vs 2k13

Ok need some thoughts. I got 2k12 from a friend a few weeks ago and love it... I have a great realistic slider set, updated rosters that are giving me some great and fun games. What am I going to get out of buying 2k13 that I am not getting in 2k12?? Been reading alot of the threads and hearing both sides of the story but would like to see what people think in one place.

Its prob not a bad thing being a season behind in 2kbasketball...atm only the first rounders are in the game.Its a bit more polished than 2k12 bit more fun imo,still plenty of issues tho

I prefer 2k13 overall as a game but I still prefer the controls of 2k12.

i have nba 2k12 and fun with it, i actually wanted to skip 2k13 to regain some motivation. but is 2k13 really a MAJOR improvement? i play mostly franchise-career mode, not online or my player and such. opinions? thank you guys!!

I've been having a lot of fun out of 2k13 in Association(Franchise). It's not really a big jump from 2k12, but the new controls have really sold me on it so far. I play Association religiously on 2k12 and see the same happening for 2k13.

NBA 2k13 is better. Is it worth $60? In my opinion it is. I am all about updated stuff and realism. NBA 2k13 has the new courts which Im big on. The Brooklyn Nets and all this years rookies. The animations are way better from individual players even down to Steve Novak after he hits a trey. If you don't have the money, pay your electric bill first but if you can afford it, then do it.

NBA 2K13. I did like 2K12, but after a few months, I couldn't take it. It was bump city trying to get across the paint and follow the play (I feel bad for playing SG on 2K12).

I play mostly Myplayer and playing as a Center really is frustrating compared to 2k12. The reason I find it frustrating is because of how the animations makes your guy move. I really feel you have less control over your guy. Like say I was playing Duncan and he is hanging out by right side of the key but he isn't posting up. If I go anywhere near him we do this animations that makes it look like I'm trying to post up. Guys don't get pushed around like that. Another thing is a shot went up. I went to go for a rebound, I get box out which is ok, but the guard that box me out, we did some animation and it took me from the left of the key to almost the right side 3point line. Like that is not realistic. I don't know how to explain it more. I might make a video, but some of these animations are just way overblown.

I'm sticking with it because it is a lot harder to score underneath. In 2k12 it was just way to easy to score as a Center. But the animations are killing me right now......

I skipped 2k12 due to the lockout season, and have pretty much been playing 2k11 with updated rosters this whole time. Thinking about getting the 2k13 Dynasty edition since it's the only way I can get the All-Star weekend package. You guys think it's worth $100?

2k13 no question. 2k12 was probably the worst year on next-gen consoles.

what are the major improvements gameplaywise in nba2k13? and when it comes to association mode, is the tradelogic better, and are there any (other) significant improvements in my favourite game mode?

The contact in 2K13 has been toned down unlike 2K12.

2K12 has the better shooting controls but dribble moves in the game was more difficult. 2K13 has the better dribble controls but shooting with the dribble stick in the game is more difficult. Having to hold down L2 before pulling back on the dribble stick to shoot is really stupid in my opinion, ESPECIALLY on fastbreaks. I'm so used to just pulling back on the right stick on fastbreaks to either throw down a dunk or a layup. Having to also hold L2 now is just dumb.

In terms of controls, 2K12 wins in my opinion. 2K13 has the better overall presentation. I like how it tells you who's in the Bonus right on the scoreboard. Also, I like how shooting releases don't change when you're behind the 3 point line. That always bugged me in 2K12 but that doesn't seem to be an issue in 2K13. I'd say 2K12 is the better game for now but in a few months, that should change.
