    Missed Dunks

Is it just me or this is becoming really annoying?
First off I can understand why MyPlayer (Athletic PG even with 99 dunk 92 vertical, 6' 1" ) can miss a dunk, but wide open ones?
I mostly stay away from rebounding and go on a fastbreak and even without opponents in front off me MyPlayer misses a wide open dunk. He doesn't miss every one, but 1-2 out of 10 per game he must miss.

I started my second season in MyCAREER with Clippers and we acquired Iguodala as a starting SG and even he misses 4 or even 5 per game. He gets wide open and I throw him a bounce pass he catches it perfectly and then all of a sudden he misses a wide open basket.

And one more thing I noticed.
If for example Blake catches a rebound and I run out towards the basket and press Pass he will most likely hit the backboard and commit a turnover, or seriously overthrow the ball forward and again commit a turnover. I've seen some crazy passes too, when the guy hits the board so hard it goes out.

    Re: Missed Dunks

I have also missed WIDE open dunks, I was on fast break, no one behind me, My player has the off two feet and two hand hang "go-to" dunk package, he jumps up, comes down..ball flys out... -___- . My player is 6"6 with 87 dunk.

Yeah when i'm on fastbreak and call for a pass, for some reason the AI thinks its smart to launch it 20 feet in the air full power so it goes out of bounds on the other side, like...i know some of their passing level isn't that high but come on..a 12 year old can throw the ball to me from that distance without it flying over my head.

This usually happens once your player gets tired.

maybe his passing skill is too low to always pass the ball perfectly all the way down the court? That s exactly why they have the break starter skill, because some people can make a good outlet pass while others can't.

                Re: Missed Dunks

Consistency is 92/99. So that shouldnt be a problem.
I understand when player is tired I can't even make a shot from Mid range. But that doesn explain when he misses a dunk in the first 2-3-4 minutes.
While playing NBA 2K12 myplayer never missed a dunk, but this year they decided to change it. I don't say it like it's a bad thing but it gets annoying when he keeps missing wide open dunk, I can live with missed dunks in traffic.

I'd suggest continuing to investigate in terms of possible attributes or fatigue affect, because I have not had a single hint of a dunking problem with MyPlayer (6'4'' 55 rated dunker with a mediocre vert). This leads me to believe maybe I somehow have an attribute raised that you do not. Or perhaps I have more juice left in my turbo and my fatigue is solid whenever I attempt to dunk? If I'm out of turbo, I do not try dunking, so perhaps that's it.

                      What's your dunk at?

I have my pass first pg at 65 and I've only missed one in 20 games, and that's on fast breaks and in traffic.

Basic one foot two hand hang as the go to dunk package

I do have the finisher sig skill though

To be fair, the original poster is talking about missing 2 out of every 10 dunks he attempts. It could be something he's doing incorrectly on his end but either way, it's not normal. Vince Carter has a Top Ten Missed Dunks video, but it's a compilation over many years. He's not missing 2 out of 10, nor is LeBron James and company (aside from that anomaly when he missed four in a short period). I don't think the poster has an issue with missed dunks in general, it's how often they're occurring.

In the one video LeBron missed 4 dunks in 4 straight games, a dunk a game.

I myself play at least 4-5 12 minute games a day. I play on HOF sim(I'm assuming it would be harder to dunk with success on the hardest difficulty) I haven't seen a missed dunk in days. Again I play this game frequently, so it gives me time to see more missed dunks. The dunks I have missed are because my guys were tired, or tried to dunk it in traffic. Ive only seen one flatout missed dunked where he alot of space. Again it's basketball.

He probably is doing something wrong. Holding the controls for to long, moving the stick in different directions at once trying to get a highlight dunk, dunking in traffic, trying to finish on bigger players there's alot of factors that could be why he's missing them.

                              Missed dunks aren't problem IMO.
