Re: Advice on Low Post Play
My post play drastically improved when I started using the "High" camera (height 10, zoom 1). The angle is very helpful for post moves. -

If you're right underneath the basket, pump fake, hold turbo, shot stick/button. Dunk time. If you're a little further out, then post up and mix up your attack a little bit. Bynum has good ratings in the post on both the fadeaway and hook, so mix it up. Pump fake, lay it in. Fadeaway. Shimmy fadeaway. Power back down for the hook.Comment

Bynum's so big and strong you can pretty much back any one down close to the basket. At that point a hook shot is your best bet. Mix it up though. Use the pump fake to try and get the defender off his feet.Comment

with bynum any time you have a strength size advantage just back him in try to start with deep position then once close enough just drop step pump fake then go up. Otherwise mixup hook shots with up and under moves to avoid contact layupsComment

Re: Advice on Low Post Play
In Game Modes there is a Post Move's 2 v 2 practice mode, use it. Pump fakes are your best friend in the post. Also remember you can fake before you take a dribble as well (then use that dribble to get past one defender and have another fake at your disposal), and pressing y (triangle) will face you back up after a post up resulting it quite a few good chances at driving past your opponent.
AI was wrong you just need Practice and the hook really only falls on a regular basis if you're only a few feet from the basket.Comment

It's important to go through the actual training camp mode to learn new post moves and also the 2k13 instruction booklet. I read to do the advanced movesTEAMS

What I don't like about "training camp" is that you can't practice the moves/routines with the different button-option/setting.
So you can only practice with "iso/shooting" and not with "shooting/iso" stick (which I am using). This sucks seriously. I was pretty good at playing the post in 2K12 and now with everything different I'm not even playing the post that much.
I did finish training camp but this was using the "x-button" a lot and not the shooting stick which gives you so much more options.Comment

I agree that 2k went wrong there on the buttons. Especially since most people use shot stick.TEAMS

This x 1000. You will not make the same shot over and over, the CPU will adjust. Power back down for the hook.
Also, pump fake."The designated hitter rule is like letting someone else take Wilt Chamberlain's free throws."

Re: Advice on Low Post Play
As a Philly fan I have found a couple of ways to bring out Bynum's best.
Jump Hook. With Bynum's size you should be able to back many guys down and pull off this simple move. Mix it up from going towards the paint and going baseline. Shot should always be taken no more than 7 feet from the rim and even thats a stretch.
Turn and drive. With your back to the basket, simply just reverse pivot and drive towards the paint. For a big man Bynum has a decent first step and with his size it gives him the advantage most of the time. Soon a simple pivot will make defenders back up and you can pull that little 5 foot set shot for an easy basket.
Offensive Rebounds. Keep him near the basket - he gets a bunch of hustle points.
Bynum doesn't need to do anything else - in fact, he can't do much more than those things but he's very good at them. His only 'hotspot' is basically a dunk. Everything else he's shaky on. In my current OA I have Bynum close to 20 points a game and I basically just rotate through these things. If you don't mix it up he will be a 10 point scorer - if you mix it up well, he'll get you 20.#WashedGamerComment

Re: Advice on Low Post Play
A small thing I noticed is that they REALLY nerfed the post fadeaways this year. I was practicing post fadeaways with Dirk in an empty gym on rookie with no defenders in sight, perfect releases, and the Post Proficiency sig skill activated and the best shot quality grade I could get was a B.Last edited by Illmatic1991; 12-26-2012, 02:42 PM.Comment
