Is it possible to exceed the 99 rating?

Before I waste the VC on equipment, is it at all possible to go over a 99 rating in an attribute when you equip shoes/sleeves etc? Just curious if anyone has found out. I ask because I want to add the leg sleeve (whatever it is called) to boost my vertical attribute, but I am already at a 99.

you go over the cap for equipment upgrades, my midrange is capped at 85 for a center but I have the sleeves on both hands giving me +6 so im at 91. I dont think it will take it over 99 though.

I'm curious because on myteam, I'm not sure if i should add interceptor to Gary Payton since he already has a 99 steal rating.

Nope. But just because you don't see the actual stat rise above 99, doesn't necessarily mean that it isn't. Example: When a player has "Closer" equipped and the conditions have been met, his stats increase is not reflected in the same way as having a teammate with floor general or defensive anchor on the floor with him (indicated by higher numbers and an up arrow highlighted with green).

The game wouldn't show the rating going over 99 but really it's already over 99.
For an example Michael Jordan is a 106 according to Rashidi

Ratings can not exceed 99. OVR could if 2k extended the scale but it wouldn't matter.

Rashidi was only the BEST roster creator for years.
He made rosters for the PS2, nba 2k4-2k9 I believe. Real NBA Players bought his rosters.
