I've been playing 2k since about 2k6. Although I'm more of a live fan, it seems as if 2k will be our only option so I'm stuck. But how long will 2k swindle us and get away with it? I've been having the most frustrating problem the past week. Im using a brand new 2k13 disc, it worked the whole WEEK that I had it, nothing was going wrong, all of a sudden I started having problems.
1.) The ps3 wont even read it now sometimes, I can play Madden, COD, Fifa 13 anything I want BUT 2k13 or 2k12. It simply gives the same noise as when you exit the disc. No other game has this problem.
2.) If I miraculously get passed that, I am faced with a pitch back screen that does nothing but sit there (I waited 45 minutes one day. left came back). And if it just so happens to not goto the black screen I'm lucky right? Wrong, itll freeze when the Jay-z intro comes on.
3.) Now lets say I get passed both of these very frustrating obstacles ( I've tried a max of 27 times just to get it passed these 2). It wont even matter, I started my mycareer about 2 months ago when I first had 2k. He's in year 3 now, no titles because I only play key games, but I finally found myself in the NBA Championship. I played every key game through the playoffs and games 5 and 6 of the Finals, everything's going well. Right until I win it all, see around game 6 the freezing wasn't even a problem. Game 7 was the next day, the previous night everything was fine, and then BOOM. Every time I finish it, it freezes at the Your VC earnings are being reported screen and doesn't move after that (once again I've waited 30 minutes). All I can think of was last years debacle where I had to just stop playing 2k12, it never worked for me after the freezing problem even after the patch (I wasn't the only one) Me and alot of people were left in the cold as they never really fixed it, they didn't care.
Its not just this, if I do luckily get to my player, the loading please wait screen takes about 5 minutes, then the pregame load when they show your VC earned and chemistry it takes about 5 minutes swell. Then during the game if an action replay is forced (dunk) the announcers shut up and the player just stand out of bounds waiting for the replay to show, it takes very long maybe 20 seconds at most. Sometimes the commentators will get silent and then catch up with the action about 3 minutes down the line. This is EXACTLY what happened with my 2k12, except they never did the replay and it would just sit there. I've even saved mycareer with 10 seconds left we're up by 10 to see if it will let me finish game 7, nope it ALWAYS freezes.
4.) I cant even play my team, once again it was working flawless Saturday, Sunday evening comes and its toast. I try to load a game and if I'm lucky I'll play (keep in mind 1. and 2.), but more times than none it gets stuck at the loading please wait, i stare at it for longer than 4 seconds and it stays up forever. The worst part is this happens in Road to Playoffs, when it does I lose my VC for the game and get a loss (Im in seed 8 I basically got back to seed 7 because of it, happened 4 times.) The players dont even show up in my collection just blank spotlights with nobody in them and a name under.
5.) This happened to my 2k12 around the beginning of November, they didn't Attempt* to fix it until January or something I may be wrong but it never worked after December. Now once again, I see the problem reoccurring, it's not just me I've been seeing more and more people report it daily. Just like last year it started out as a few and it spread, they didn't even know until damn near nobody could play 2k.
6.) This game has too many flaws to simply break itself every year. Think about it, you get maybe 200 VC a game with your myplayer, 300 for an online game. Myteam games cost alot especially if you have stars, I have one gold 3 silvers all have sig skills, Its 1700 a game! That means I have to play about 5 or 6 ranked matches to play myteam, and lets say I want Lebron? 20000 VC, I could win about 5 titles on MyCareer and still not get Lebron, plus its not separated, You use the same VC for MyTeam, MC, and the Closet. Which you can buy 5000 VC jackets and Jerseys (Like WTF?) Oh and don't forget the 10.00$ Jewelry for blacktop! Why do that when you can simply buy 20000 VC for about 6.00$, I've made 24000 in mycareer playing all key games, for 3 years. 2k wants nothing but money, money and more money, you think they added the closet because we wanted our non human video game character to look "cool"? No, its so we are forced to buy VC, 6.00$ will add up for them and I wouldn't be surprised if they made 100 million off VC alone.
7.) The cheeses, who asked 2k to make it so that you CANT block dunks? Like its so obvious, how many times have you had Javale MCGee get clobbered on because the ball goes through his whole body, hands, arms, it doesn't matter! In fact, play a game vs the cpu or Superstar, you dont even have to get on HOF lol, I've noticed the CPU moves way more fluent compared to yours, my player moves like he's got a bad hip or something (90 speed 95 quickness) and when making cuts they move even slower while the CPU flies to the basket, I have 96 steals yet I couldn't pluck a fly off my shoulder, meanwhile Westbrook or some no name even plucks me (87 Ball Security) like Im a kid or something, when I make a pass they put there arms up before I even get into the motion. This forces about 6 TOS a game, but when my teammate who is AI controlled passes it to me it happens way less, The cpu at any given time make the ball invisible to you, Westbrook spins and it goes right through my body. But yet if I touch any solid part of anyone on the floor it bounces right off. And the passes, WHAT? Ive had steve kerr airmail a pass 5 feet away, wide open no movement no defense. And on top of that if you just press x it passes it to the most uncovered person on the floor, forcing a steal 75% of the time.
8.) Association has barely been touched, they saw money was in my career and myteam so they said F it. And also in myteam you cant trade or auction cards. This is so that 2k gets more $$ if theres an auction or trade block we could flip our vc there. My point for these last 3 numbers are that 2k already has too many problems, its still playable but irritating to say the least. So I can use Justin Beiber, Wale, heck even by my own jewelry, but I cant simply play the game? A brand new copy? The digital download did NONE of this. Until we do something 2k will continue to sell us there money hungry version of NBA Street. For them to have the same problem with every game for 3 years, and in most cases not even fix it, they should be ashamed, this is Example of what happens when a VG runs a monopoly. The worst part is 2k wont even know this thread exists. They wont know at least 1000 people will have to get a new system because 2k wont work on it. The erasing game data wont even work this year. 2k breaks in the most frustrating fashions, if I could play 1 mode, okay. But to basically make it damn near impossible, a 1/25 chance that you can play when your game does catch this symptom, unacceptable.
