NBA 2K13 Digital or CD?

I'm planning to get 2k13 today or tomorrow. PS Store is having a sale until tomorrow that is 50% off all 2k13 content. So I don't know if I should get the hard copy from Gamestop or 2 $20 ps cards, buy 2k13 from ps store, and maybe the all-star pack too.

I'm very against goin digital now. Too many things go wrong . Especially since you are on psn . It saves u money I know but still ...

I buy all my games digitally since my collection was stolen....don't know what constitutes things can go wrong, I've had no problem with mine and I own 42 games digitally, never get stolen don't need to travel with games ( I work national parks) never get scratched or damaged, if sone thing happens to the system or hard drive you can download them again....no wear and tear on the system or disc drive....go digital

Still don't lose it though yeah it will go down but if you already dl the game then you can still play it. The only real issue is if you didn't download it before hand and have to wait till psn goes back up

if the game is on your HD you can still play... the internet being down would affect the disc and downloaded copy the same way: inability to use online modes

Oh when I downloaded fight night it was game locked during psn outages . It would have locks by game modes and say i have to buy it.

Maybe just that game.

fight night is a funny lil game... i think its because you could buy modes individually, whereas you buy the full version of most other games

whenever i first boot fight night, all modes appear lcoked for about 10 seconds

Based on rumors about the next generation systems and my own train of thoughts, I have the theory that this is the near future for all of us whenever the new generation of systems come out. Its cost effective for the industry, production wise (ie, they dont have to make cases and discs and ship worldwide..). It will allow them to eradicate used game purchases and pirating in one swoop. The whole industry will be less dependent on retailers (meaning will be giving our money directly to sony/xbox and the game companies, and no middle or triple man will need to get a cut). And it will give them the excuse to gauge us more in the wallet by selling hard memorabilia products, like game posters and all kind of memorabilia junk, that alot of us will buy.

I just bought 2K13 online Friday, my first type of purchase like this and I actually really loved it, suprisingly so because I wasn't sure if i would (talking of the purchase of a game digitally). It's readily there for me to play, I never have to worry about broken games, which I never have broken a game anyway but... it's also less strain on the system reading smudged and scratched discs, causing it to get erratic. There are a lot of pros to digital ownership of games, the only con being that I do not have a hard case to display along with my other games for collectors sake, even though I could buy one on ebay probably but thats kind of dumb.
