Is 2K Scripted?

Is it me or has this same weird thing happened to anyone. So I was in MyCareer mode a fter just sweeping The Wizards I looked and checked the Playoff Tree as always. I checked and seen that my next opponent was either The Pacers or The 76ers(who I didn't want to face because 2K seems to cheese with them against my team the Bulls). So I just randomly checked in with my GM because I haven't been there in awhile. After I had a talk with him (we say our usual lines when we exit). You know how during the regular season the GM says you have to prepare for your next opponent well that still happens. Now the GM tells me we have to get ready for the 76ers. WHAAAAT!!?? How does 2K know we're supposed face them when they were tied 2-2 with the Pacers after we advanced. How did they psychicly predict 2-3 games ahead. Then after I face them I find out they had beaten them in 7. After going up 2 games they wound up beating us 7. While cheesing us in every game even without Evan Turner and Andrew Bynum. Especially Thad and Nick Young who were scoring like 30 pts which they werent doing during the regular season. They would also go on to win the NBA title to make me even more frustrated. Now Im wondering was this suppose to happen or did 2K just cheese me. Or am I overreacting?

No it's just a coincidence. The lines spoken by the GM is based on various factors and in this case it had something to do with the sixers. Just coincidence.

GM always says 76ers if he doesnt know who your next oppopnent is. It's just a scripting error. I was in NBA finals after beating the lakers. I went and talked to my GM and he said good luck against 76ers, I went ahead and checked, 76ers were eliminated in the 2nd round.

2k is effing scripted, but only in the games. When every shot goes in, your easy passes sail 6 feet above your target, when the needless pass bobble animations occur, that's the script at work.

2k is effing scripted, but only in the games. When every shot goes in, your easy passes sail 6 feet above your target, when the needless pass bobble animations occur, that's the script at work.

You may notice less 'scripting' if you play better on ball D, contest shots, make smarter passes. Just a hint! :wink:

You mean I have to stop shooting the ball with 18 seconds left on the shot clock on for each play?

I like the legends camp in my player it has a bunch of tools to boost your off/def to help solve the "scripted" issue. It also has Tut.

Well speaking on the topic of 2k being scripted, in 2k12 every single MyPlayer or Offline/Online Association's I ended up doing, Tony Parker was always being traded to the Pacers.

It's because there isn't a real schedule during the playoffs so he is confused. Also if you dig into the files (on PC at least), the 76ers are team000, which means they are the "Default" team. And the string that was said by the computerized GM was just the default since there was an oversight or glitch.

Or maybe they were first in the East and had to play their next game. But you didn't point that out.

This game is obv scripted.

Especially in MC. If I have a 1 point lead and coach takes me out, then I come back in and i still have my lead (most of the time). Same with the CPU, DOESN'T MATTER if it's only a 1 point lead, we have the momentum and coach only takes me out for 2 minutes. when i come back in, we're down 5 or we're down 10. EVERY TIME. i never see a difference.

it also doesn't help that coach will take me out whenever it's convenient for the CPU. the other day i was playing the spurs at SA (i'm a mavs fan and these games are huge for me cuz i DESPISE the spurs. when i lose to the spurs i'm just livid.) i was leading THE ENTIRE GAME. granted, it was a small margin but still, a lead is a lead. CPU starts coming back and they get it within 1. i was saving my timeouts all game and trying to make sure i didn't use them all for the 4th cuz i felt this was going to be close down the stretch. 30 seconds left in the 3rd i take my 3rd time out so i can get a good possession to at least put me back up by 3 to start the 4th. i have the majority of my stamina because i don't spam r2 like everyone else. so i'm not tired or anything. coach takes me out and i'm like "WTF" and hit triangle only to come in 30 seconds into the 4th (so a whole minute of game time right before the break of a quarter so i would have had more stamina anyways) and i'm down 10.

REALLY 2K?!?! They scored 11 points in less than a MINUTE of gameplay?

I didn't get my lead back and I end up fouling out because i tried to get a couple key steals that would have brought me back in the game. I'm sorry, if I'm down and I hit square ONE time on a big man trying to bring the ball up the court that should NOT be a foul.

either way...

i got my revenge. beat them by 20 at home.

I'm not sure if what your describing is it being scripted, or just really stupid MC computer AI. I think its the latter....
