    LeBron in Free Agency

Short of doing 30 team control, is there anyway to guarantee that players like LeBron with an ETO make it to the free agent market?

    Thanks in advance!

Probably not. I mean, you can edit his contract, but there's no guarantee that he wouldn't resign with the Heat. It's pretty much scripted. In my first year, Josh Smith always stays with ATL and Dwight Howard and Chris Paul always go to other teams. You can make Howard and Paul STAY, but you can't make Smith GO.

Thats what I thought. Thanks though. I wish their logic was better. I've seen CP3 in Cleveland with Kyrie and Dwight back in Orlando.

If I don't manually fix his contract, Dwight always goes back to Orlando in mine, too. Lol! Guess it really IS scripted.

Yeah I think I have seen Dwight sign once some place else. Other than Cleveland I have seen CP3 sign in Detroit. I have edited CP3's since it looks like he will stay but since Dwight has zero loyalty its impossible to even try to sign him to the Lakers and me be okay with it

I don't think its scripted. I've had Dwight go to Charlotte, Houston and Detroit in different sims.

In my current Nets one he's on the Bobcats.

I'm a Lakers fan and I don't want him. Lol! I wish we would have traded him for Brook Lopez! I've seen CP3 sign with Atlanta a bunch. I'll def make him stay with the Clips once Beds puts his trade deadline roster out and I start my association for real. I don't seem him leaving either.

In my Pistons franchise i signed CP3 while Dwight and JR Smith signed with the Rockets. Theyre 19-5 and just destroyed me by 24

I wonder if the rosters have anything to do with it also.

                    Re: LeBron in Free Agency

I don't think any of the "modern day" superstars (LBJ, Dwight, CP3) will ever commit to a long term contract... They seem to look at a long term deal as a bad idea in case the team sucks down the road and they want to "keep their options open" so to speak...

On the flip side of that, as you saw in Cleveland with LBJ, if the superstar player does NOT sign a long term extension (5 or 6 years) then getting other Top Flight Free Agents will be damn near impossible because nobody knows what the "super star" player is going to do in 3 years when his contract expires...

Essentially, the "inmates are running the asylum" in the NBA these days...

since 30 team is a pain in the assssssssss i normally just switch gm positions after free agency and trade back howard/paul to the lakers/clips and sort of "reward" the teams that went out and spent the money (for example, howard for gasol's expiring) plus then the game sets the market value on the players so i don't have to.

but in my recent one, howard signed with the spurs. that would we one heck of signing for the spurs and howard, I'm so tempted to leave it but i do believe howard will resign irl after he tests his value

I've had Dwight sign with the Cleveland and also have had LeBron sign with Cleveland (in a different sim). It was funny (and likely realistic) because Cleveland suddenly became number 1 in the East with Kyrie, LeBron, and their top 5 picks from 2013 and 2014 while Miami instantly turned into a bottom feeder.

I think the Lakers need to get far in the Playoffs for Dwight to stay. They always get booted in the first or second round in my Association sims, and Dwight almost always leave if this happens.

i think its all because of the cap space. Since the Cavs, Pistons, Magic etc, are the only teams that can afford the stars (other than their actual team) they choose to leave.

                            but thats just my guess.
