Has this game gotten boring / dry to you ?
The game just seems really bland to me lately. Every match is literally starting to feel the same. Offline playing against the CPU got boring fast. Myteam and Rank matches are so annoying lately. Teamup is the only thing I like really now, but everyone always quit.

Yeah I got burned out hard a few weeks ago, so I just took about 3 weeks off from playing. When I fired it back up it was a lot of fun again. The game just seems really bland to me lately. Happens to me like once a week now. I would play a game and feel immensly bored and have to quit playing it for a week. Then I come back because I get hype from watching the NBA and after a week I'am done again.Comment

I feel you dude... In my association I can't even finish a 12 minute-quarter game. I can't even play online because of my trash connection. ;\Comment

Re: Has this game gotten boring / dry to you ?
It has at times but I find ways to make it interesting. Like using a random number generator to chose a team and running a franchise with them on 30 team control .... I try and give teams a personality and direction and make signings which are realistic.
This way playing the games themselves is only part of it.... Keeps me interested.
As for online. I ever play it... I did once , hated it and never have again.
Still have times when I can't play it... Like wont tough it for a week or 2 and then I'm good againComment

Unfortunatly Yes!! I thought MyTeam mode would keep the fire lit, but its become so monotonous these days, its been about 10 games since i havent seen LBJ on somebodys team or one of the other common over-powered characters in this game.
But lets face it, at this point 2k dont really care, Jay Z has been paid and 2k have made their greatest profit in years.
In all fairness though im hooked back on MyCareer and really enjoying it again, Made a Hakeem type centre and playing with D-Rose on the Bulls, Spending time to adjust or download the correct rosters makes a world of difference!Comment

Re: Has this game gotten boring / dry to you ?
Do you know any good rosters avail on 2K share? Maybe one with a slider too.
I've been looking for one but there are so many I don't know wich one to choose. (I'am a shotstick type of player too, not into real player %ages)Comment

Well fortunatly i play on ps3 so i have the access to bedwardsroy19's roster's which i believe make the game behave a little more realistic. I have spent hours fine-tuning the game to suit the way i like it, but i cant stress how much it enhances the experience, especially for the SIM type player.

Re: Has this game gotten boring / dry to you ?
i keep trying to find good triangle offense for classic bulls but it is always the same pain!!
always the same classic team!! i know i can change between pistons 89, Magic 95, Knicks 95, Jazz 98, it's my favorite to play against; i know i can play with Magic 95 against the Rockets 95, or Spurs 95 or away Suns 95 (if i find a good team on 2kshare) but anyway there is really something which disturbs me: classic court are not really classic court and secondly i would like more classic team!!
I have never used kings 01, or Sixers 01 or Dream Team!! old team under 89 the same, never play with the warriors 91, never play against the LAkers 98 because Kobe is better than Jordan and playbooks is not interresting etc etc etc
Last year i waited NBA 2k13 for other classic team because it was boring in 2K12, and in NBA 2K13 it is the same..... yes it is boring!!
Same dunk for Jordan, same jumpshot, same playbooks for the bulls!!
really no need to buy NBA 2K13, i was wrong to buy this game, 2K is good because they said us somewhere to not buy this game due the lake of difference between 2K13 and 2K12, i know gameplay is better this year but it was good in 2K12 too so if there is not other new contents where is the logical to buy another game!!
no challenge for dream team, no classic court for dream team, no challenge for classic players.... yes it's boring stern!!Last edited by PJBrownHeat; 03-14-2013, 06:07 AM.Comment

Re: Has this game gotten boring / dry to you ?
Yes, I believe I've burned out a little bit on 2K13 this year. I think this has to do with my specific 2K interests being tapered or chopped down a little bit this year. For instance, some of my favorite portions of the past few 2K's has been playing a legends mode (2K11's Jordan Challenge, 2K12's Greatest), downloading custom retro rosters (ex: full years like 1991, 2000), and uploading my top clips via ReelMaker. All of those aspects are now either completely absent in 2K13 or greatly reduced.
Without those options, I've personally felt a little restricted in terms of what's possible to do in this game. I don't like playing online and I don't like building random teams (My Team). Like every other year, I enjoyed MyPlayer while playing through my first year, then it became terribly repetitive and numbing. On top of that, the immersion factor (in my regard) was greatly harmed with the near full removal of summer league, training camp, and D-League alongside the addition of gold coins and t-shirts that take a full year's salary worth to purchase. I was into Association for a small moment, but as I always choose the Pistons, so it wasn't too fun this year (which is not the fault of the game). I also stopped playing my Association at the first year trade deadline so I could wait to see if the Pistons made a real life deal (they did). After I stopped, I just didn't go back.
That's pretty much left me with NBA Today, which is really well done this year. However, each game is played in a vaccuum. It's fun to replicate real life, but the games never stand for anything. It's not progressing my career, I struggle to save plays and share them with the community... it's just hard to find the point of playing. You say the point is to have fun, but playing for no lasting reason eventually stops being fun for me.
On top of everything else, the soundtrack and general presentation doesn't exactly keep me coming back. The unstoppable auto-save only creates further frustration. Still, I'm trying, because I want to continue liking 2K13. Despite the fear of roster corruption or accidentally auto-saving over my work, I decided to begin making my own classic teams. That's very much improved replayability for me lately, though I'm still not playing like I have been with games in the past.Last edited by VDusen04; 03-14-2013, 09:14 AM.Comment

Re: Has this game gotten boring / dry to you ?
Not yet for me either. Despite the overall tenor of this forum I give huge kudos to the 2K team for their effort with 2K13. They've done more to individualize players via animations, ratings, and attributes than any sports game ever and I enjoy the game immensely. Granted I'm not playing it 6hrs a day everyday, nor am I the "hardcore" basketball fan that some here are. I've only touched on maybe 25% of what the game has to offer in terms of content.
I went to the barbershop last week, and while in the chair I noticed a couple kids plugging up a 360 to one of the main monitors. I couldn't see what they were playing from where I sat but I noticed the people able to see the monitor being very into what was going on - of course they were playing NBA2K13. It made me think of a similar moment I had maybe 6yrs ago when I was in a different barbershop and kids were playing Madden on the PS2, and realized how popular that game had become. Anyways, kudos to the 2K team for - there are a lot of us that enjoy your efforts.HBO's "The Wire" should rank as one of the top 10 shows EVER on tv - period
