I think there should be a buffer-zone. A guy like Marc Gasol(he deserves the Defensive Anchor if you've watched him direct a defense) doesn't make a sniff of difference to a elite defensive specialist like Tony Allen but he helps guys like Mike Conley, Bayless, Arenas(when he was there), etc who have the tools become better defenders. Make it so guys who don't suck on defense(Steve Nash) and guys who aren't put over the top(Durant, Westbrook) don't benefit.

This is random but PJ Tucker of the Phoenix Suns deserves the lockdown skill just as much as anyone but because the Phoenix Suns suck he doesn't get his due.
Try using Marcus Camby and Tyson Chandler in your front court online...both have anchor. I swear it feels like all my defensive sliders have been boosted to 100, I did it as an experiment and it was SEVERELY over powered.

This is the line-up for best defensive cheese results :

Kidd (pick pocket)
Shumpert (lockdown)
Melo
Camby(anchor)
Chandler(anchor)

... really you don't even need Melo, a defensive SF would make it work better.

Yeah I always pick up Camby in my association. I actually play in a cheese league at College so I have this line-up

PG: Tony Allen
SG: Thabo
SF: Ronnie Brewer/Mbah Moute
PF: Ibaka/Gibson
C: Chandler/Ben Wallace(love this guy)
Rest of the guys are shooters!

Yeah I'm kinda of a hypocrite but this is an isolated cheese league(most of the guys are actually sim players so it's an amazingly unique experience). I never abuse defense online but I've played against guys who have.

TA and Thabo back court, sheesh lol. Nobodies getting in the paint easy with those guys on the perimeter.

I bet you notice a lot of animations were your opponent is constantly getting pushed back as he tries to get by you. Then they end up trying to lead pass into the paint and it gets picked off. I just love watching defense in this game because it's so seldom that it it occurs lol.

i play good defense with the warriors. you dont need a bunch of defensive studs to play good defense. stay disciplined and use L2 to contest shots.

of course there are the games where ill get lit up but that is pretty rare.

Dissin on my favorite player Ronnie Brewer? I play him 2-4(only when playing 2 of who play small ball). Ronnie is my MVP son ya best respect.

On the subject of those animations they don't happen. We all play on my friend Chade's Xbox(with 7 guys its used a lot) and since most of us have sim backgrounds we play with sliders, hex-edited rosters, and realistic draft picks. We all run plays with 0 d-assist and 50% max zone so you don't see those animations you're talking about(I've seen them before though on my solo association).
