Why does everyone quit in team up matches?

I've played 5 games out of 50+ this year where 4-5 of players on my team or the other team actually stay in the game.

Tonight for example, our opponents got the Pacers and immediately Paul George and Roy Hibbert users quit. Am I missing something? Is it not fun using a 6'9 SG BEAST?!? Or one of the better skilled centers in the league?

I could understand quitting if your teammates are being selfish, but why quit in the beginning? I only quit if everyone else quits and we are stucking facing the AI.

It is really fun playing this game mode, but once again an awesome online game mode can go to waste due to the awful community. There needs to be more punishment and consequences for quitting. If these same guys believe it is just a video game and it doesn't matter then they sure wouldn't be upset with a 30 minute suspension or a 1 day ban for excessive quitting within the first 2 minutes.

There should also be some sort of matchmaking in play where you can filter for the type of teammates you want. I don't want someone whose average teammate grade is a D+ and takes 28 shots a game. I'd rather have someone who has a B or higher that takes 8-10 high quality shots a game with 3-4 assist per game.

Anyways sorry for the rant, but this is just another example of 2k poorly implementing a potentially great online mode. You can't leave it up to the community as they will ruin any online game. Game developers need to take things in their own hands and start handing out suspensions/bans to minimize quitting.

What is everyone's experience with team up so far?

Too many people quit because they get placed on teams where they aren't passed the basketball I've had numerous games where players quit within the first 3 minutes of the first quarter because of the team they are on or because of the position they receive

I am talking about guys quitting right away. I've seen people quit with some great players too. Do little kids sit on the game all night and keep trying over and over till they Lebron or Kobe?

It happens on the xbox. More than a few times with me & ranked team up. It usually happens with a lobby of 2 or 3 friends

Yes, it happens on the PS3 too, specially if there is a huge disparity of users ... like 5-1, some within a party get moved to the other side ...

What the OP described tho, could be due to many reasons indeed, as have already been cited ... then again, the thruth is that this happens mostly due to the fact that most users are casuals ... and I am not referring to their knowledge of how to play the game (many do and even play better than hardcores), but to their knowledge of the players/teams ... more than often, I have heard kids, teens, even adult like voices, expressing their displeassure for getting such low tier teams (MIL, CHA, CLE, ORL) or players they dont recognize (like David West, Ibaka, Horford, Parsons, Dragic, Cousins, etc) ... so they quit, I prefer those that quit right away than those that stay there without moving or that just troll the game.

Anyways, the best way (thus not infalible) to play teamup is in private rooms.

This mode is about as fun as watching paint dry at this point. Not sure who was the genius behind it, but playing the same teams over & over? Uh, yeah. It's more than a little stale. You can bet if you're assigned to the Lakers you're playing either the Clippers, Brooklyn, or NY. The Miami Heat? You'll play Orlando. Playing against Minnesota? You're on the Celtics. You're on the PHX Suns? I'd wager you're matched against the Blazers. It's the same 1-3 match ups. Every. Single. Game. By all means keep it in this format for future installments. Really fun stuff, guys.

The absence of evidence is not evidence of absence. It happens. A lot.

People quit cause its not top 10 teams
People quit because they see others quitting.

People refuse to pass, the take bad shots. and 9 times out of 10 whoever is C or PF doesn't know how to play the position.

Quitters in teamup is all too common n happened in 2k12 also. This is the appeal of blacktop and Crew -- 3v3 blacktop means you don't have to rely on so many users to stay in the game, and with crew you aren't going to quit cuz you're on a permanent team.

A quick fix remedy tho would be to get like 2000 VC if you finish a team up game. They'd be more inclined to stay if they got more VC for it.

1.just know that team up lobbies fill fast....
2.you will be playing with people you most likely don't know but will stay in the game and will know how to play team up
                            3. You must have patience and a lot of time to get in quality team up games
