I remember hearing about in the first couple of months the game is out that floaters are determined by floater tendencies(that's why when you first start trying floaters in mycareer it takes a while for them to start swishing consistently). I've only heard this on the forum as speculation so if a roster maker like turty or PaulPeirce come in here and tell you a rating I'd go with their answer.

no. tendencies do not affect success.

shot inside, shot close, shoot off dribble, shoot in traffic do. POSSIBLY layup, but thats just a theory (-never made a floater with a 90 close/inside bigman)

I've only ever seen ONE floater made in NBA 2K13. CPU made it with John Wall. Every other time I've seen them backrim.

then why have i gone like 4-4 on flaoters with guys who i put the tendency into the 10-20 range

1 made? lolz the CPU does them a lot with CP3, Tony Parker and a few others and they all in almost 100% of the time. Now if I try it with those user I get blocked or it hit's the time.

Thats it. As with everything related to 2k gameplay, forget description, trial and error and multiple tests are the way to go.

There are few more like that.

Also some animations help/prevent success of shots.

in my first mycareer game vs LAC cp3 makes 2 floaters in a row, then billups throws up a 20 foot floater and banks it on off the top the backboard.

needless to say i rage quit

I always thought it was shot close but I don't have any proof.

Its in numerous posts. Mike Wang said that the runner tendency determined the success. If you click on his posts on the forums you will see that statement.

Played a dude yesterday who made one with Jarrett Jack.

Curious about this too. I can make them with Jack but not Curry, even with bumping his tendency to the 50's. Jack is only 60.
