The fate of our 2K14 Associations may lie in the hands of 2KSports' decision to make LeBron "loyal" or "not loyal."

If they make him "loyal," LeBron wastes away on an aging Heat roster throughout our Association gameplay. If they make him "not loyal," LeBron opts for free agency and signs a contract with (most likely) the Cavs to form a core group of LeBron, Kyrie, Bynum, and Anthony Bennett (because he'll undoubtedly progress).

Would you rather see 2KSports make LeBron loyal, or not loyal?

They better not have the same rigid progression system. Associations should be dynamic.

Ideally, yes. Unfortunately, I have a feeling that by year four of your Association you'll see Anthony Bennett at 89 OVR. #1 pick + 20 years old = "A" potential and automatic superstar in NBA2K games.

I think he will be labeled as loyal.

But I control all the teams and let everyone become free agents that I believe will test the market. So it doesn't matter.

Ideally, yes. Unfortunately, I have a feeling that by year four of your Association you'll see Anthony Bennett at 89 OVR. #1 pick + 20 years old = "A" potential and automatic superstar in NBA2K games.

I think for basketball a players true potential is defined after 3 or more seasons in the league.

Potential should be hidden for a player until year 3 of that draftee.

We scout players for individual attributes throughout the season. If your a lottery pick you are looking too unlock the overall's of at least 3 go to guys these could vary even for top 5 picks. Making drafting instantly dynamic.

Could you imagine after the draft a team does not draft the best overall player until the 12th pick or so never in 2k does this happen. If your a non lottery pick you can still work for actual overalls but its best to try and go for unlocking attributes of what individual players are best at.

From draft day on forward the potential of a player from F to A that will appear in year 3 IS ALL BASED ON MINUTES AND STATS.

This is how I feel a basketball game can best mimic the dynamic explosions and flops of drafted players IRL.

Steph Curry, John Wall, Kyrie Irving and D. Rose have all improved that stats year in and year out which reflects in their abilities on the court. We pretty much new after a couple of seasons what each player was capable of improving on moving forward based on individual stats.

Up to this moment, to say that Lebron wont resign with MIA a year from now is just pure speculation ... as much as I would like him to come back to CLE, to say he will after bolting MIA, is also a big reach.

The best route they can go with, is to make it editable, as just about everything that it isnt, like team chemestry, players goals, ages, players peak/decline, coaches ratings (offense, defense, teaching), team stances (sell, buy, stand pat), staff ratings and budget, etc ...

The key for association to be successfull, apart from adding more worhty features, improving its logic and correcting bugs, is to give us the tools to edit it so it fits each of our own unique perception of how the NBA is/should be.

P.S:
While I see the benefits of a truely dynamic association, I would like it to be an option. I love options and the freedom that comes with them. Thats why I also love detailed customization and editability.

I dont think it really matters what Lebron is labeled as. Loyal or Not Loyal, Lebron is going to opt out after next season. This doesnt mean that Lebron will necessarily leave Miami just because he opts out, but its all about money. Lebron knows he can get and deserves more money that he has won multiple championships.

Now in real life I think its between Miami and Cleveland, with Miami just ahead of the Cavs as of today. I cant doubt Pat Riley, and I think that he will do whatever it takes to keep Lebron. The cavs have added Bynum, and Jack to Kyrie, Waiters, and Thompson. I like what the Cavs have done and think that Cleveland will have a better team around LBJ in 2014 than the Heat.

That being said, that last place that anyone still hates LBJ is in Cleveland. Going home and bringing a championship to Cleveland would mean so much more than winning it anywhere else.

So in 2k, Lebron should opt out and then sometimes sign to stay in Miami for more money and sometimes leave for a different team only going to a contender (not freakin Phoenix no offense)

With Riley at the helm and the ability to revamp the roster after next season the Heat will continue to compete for championships. The ONLY thing I see causing LeBron to leave the Miami Heat is if Wade goes down with a serious injury.

I hope 2K makes him loyal because as long as the Big 3 are wearing Heat uniforms they'll be one of the favorites to win it all. To think otherwise is naive.

LeBron's supporting cast in Miami is getting older (see Ray Allen, Shane Battier, Udonis Haslem, Mike Miller). Dwyane Wade's style of play does not translate well into his later years and he's injury prone. The only players on the Heat roster that offer a promising outlook for the future are Chris Bosh (because his jumpshooting translates well into his later years), Mario Chalmers (good defensively and great on the spot-up three), and Norris Cole (see Chalmers).

Miami's window is closing and if LeBron is serious about wanting to win multiple championships, he'd consider bolting as a free agent to a team like Cleveland or Houston (provided they clear a little more cap space for next season).

Dwyane Wade's style of play isn't a problem. It's been his nagging injuries and that's being addressed this off-season along with improving his shooting. The guy still averaged over 20 PPG, 5 APG, and 5 RPG this past season on 52% shooting. How is that bad? Especially for a guy playing through injuries almost all year long. He'll be back lighter and quicker next year along with an improved mid-range game. Ray Allen's been helping the Heat a lot with improving their jump shooting and free throws.

While Miami is getting older that doesn't equate to them losing their whole roster after next year. In fact with LeBron and Bosh opting out and then resigning Riley can rehaul everyone's salaries for the new CBA rules and make more cap for new bodies. Miami is far from being out of title contention.

Most of you seem to be buying into the normal media bull**** storm that comes along every time a big star is nearing the end of his contract. There's a reason LeBron came to Miami with Chris Bosh and it's worked out almost perfectly so far. It won't end any time soon barring some sort of freak injury to one of the big 3.

Also, how does it make sense to any of you so-called NBA fans to think LeBron would leave a system he's helped build for a new team where he'd have to build chemistry with all new players and try to fit into a new system and culture? It doesn't make any sense. Not to mention (those of you thinking he would return to Cleveland ) the Cav's owner burned that bridge and so did the fans. He gave them his all and got zilch in return.

How is tagging LeBron as unloyal because he left Cleveland even a remotely reasonable thought? He was extremely loyal to the Cleveland organization and fans. The ONLY reason he left is because he needed help to win it all and he wants to go down as one of the greatest of all-time. Every single one of the all-time greats had great teams and LeBron never got that in Cleveland and it looked like he never would. Sure, they have some decent talent now but that's only because of a #1 draft pick they wouldn't of had with LeBron still there.

I don't think he'll be loyal, but I really don't understand why we can't edit those philosophies in game like other things. I can go find Scal and max out his ratings, but you can't change anyone's personality?
