NBA 2K9

I played 2K9 back in Janurary just for a change from 2K13. I hadn't played since 2010 and while the visuals look good the thing that bugged me was the size of the courts. The courts look way smaller than what they did in the following games.

I have good memories of 2K9. Watching that review kind of got me excited for the hopeful return to a clean style of presentation in 2K14 (not the weird Jay-Z inspired chains, shields and swords). 2K9 didn't look too shabby. I also miss a dunk contest whose controls made sense (though the setting did not). Why can't there be a dunk contest where the setting and controls are both based in reality?

On the minus side, I certainly don't miss the days of no classic teams and only All-Decades (terrible, mushroom headed Kevin McHale spotted in video review).

I played this game yesterday and it was great. I loved that I could actually play defense in the paint with guys like Shaq instead of them being useless. The presentation was great as everybody else said, and I liked the game play. I'm going to agree with the dream and say this is a classic.

OK, I went back and played some 2K9 (with tweaked sliders/rosters). One thing that I wasn't sure about was the signature defensive styles. What's the verdict on that?

...and after reading it all, still not sure what exactly the signature defensive style means... Animations? Intensity?
