    Your House Rules

Playing association with my cousin over the years we have developed a few house rules that I feel make the game more balanced. I'll share ours and hopefully you all do the same and I have some new ones to carry into 2k14

-only one trade allowed during the season and off season

Prevents rapid swindling of the CPU and instant building of a team that fits your style.

-No trading of a current years first round pick

The CPU over values these pics in most situations, and this leads to unrealistic trades.

-Luxury tax; when 4 or more players of 75 are on team, attempting to sign another player of 75 or more must be met with a tax of one million dollars per 75+ rated player.

Example: I have a five players above 75, and want to sign a sixth whose asking for six mil per year, my minimum offer to him has to be 11 million. The extra 5 million obviously accounting for the other good players.

I have a few more, but im interested in hearing some others from the community.

    Re: Your House Rules

Our rules don't really apply to association as much as yours, they are more for gameplay:
-No picking off inbound passes ( unless the computer does it or halfcourt+ heave)

    - if your opponent is running a play; no cheating the pass lanes on the initial entry

    -no zone defense

-no drawing charges before half court

-if you skip the replay of one your opponent's nice plays (sprite slam cam). Then he gets to replay it for as long as he wants.

-you have to play every player on your roster at least once.

Oh ok, well as far as in game I dont really have any house rules because my sliders penalize reckless play.

Another house rule is that if a vet takes a cut to sign with you for a season, you cannot trade them.

In OA's, I try to set the sliders to eliminate cheesy tactics, and just try to keep the trades somewhat realistic.

In Offline Association, I look at the CPU's side of the trade, and I will force a trade if I think it benefits both teams considering all aspects(contract, skill, loyalty, age, etc)

No matter what difficulty, sliders, the CPU can't defend a short inside pass to a big well enough, so I only make that pass if there is a real passing lane.

Same here when playing with friends! Home team always does his 3 randomly first. If your not satisfied with either team your allowed one "spin of death" and must use that team no matter what.

No full court charges, no eurostep 3s, no nonsense.

We do similar to this but basically we have 5x randoms but you can opt to stop on one of the teams.

E.g. if I random and get someone like the Warriors I'll stick with them, if I get the Raptors then I'll take another turn. There's no going back though so once you choose to have another random spin, you can't go back and then decide on the Warriors.

This may seem odd, but at my house, i have icon lead passing turned off. I feel its too much of an advantage, especially when you can already see the whole court.
