Does anyone have any tips on how to stop 3 pointers?

Every time I play a game online I get killed with wide open 3 pointers. Someway, somebody is always open. People are dribbling to one corner of the court and passing across to the other side and the dude is wide open.

It's like nobody is sticking their man. They always sag off for some reason.

Press Left on the D-Pad set your defense to one of those sets (in this case Pressure Shooters)

When someone is about to shoot make sure someone is there to consist by either attempting a block or putting your hands up with the right analog stick

There's more pros who know this than me though so I'm sure they will provide something

Before the game starts or when you're in the game just adjust the defensive settings. Put the "play tight" option on his shooters on off ball and on ball. Then you can also press left on your dpad and put the constant pressure and pressure shooters option.

This, or go into coaching -> defensive settings and put "Play tight" or "deny ball" on Off ball defense on the other team's shooters. That will make your guys not run off to help on other people or sag off too much.

Play tight on shooters, man-to-man D, and put your help defense way down.

This is what you do. Sometimes its not as effective as it should be. For example, from time to time if you put "deny ball on someone" they will still sag off a lot to help something that obviously doesn't need help.

OK, so I have been playing this game every year for the last few years. I feel that I have figured out the best way to stop all the 3 point cheese (Especially if you are playing against the San Francisco Chuckers!). Shut the game off. That's the only way.

Play CPU D and guard whoever is getting left wide open. Who cares if you play it, if your D cant save you. Save Yourself

I play deny ball on great shooters and play tight on good shooters but the CPU always leave them wide open. They at times play sag off defense especially when the CPU is running.

i had played a game where i swear shumpert was making shots with my hand inside his jersey . no lie i recorded the madness on my tablet

came to a conclusion that the key is manual contesting all shots... which means you gotta play> On ball Defense

the cpu auto contest seems to be still registered as an open shot

its a combination of buttons you gotta work with and youll have Novak looking like Andrew Bynum behind the arc :wink:

im now 5-1 in the 2nd seed on myteam with only sfs bird/worthy , and pgs pearl/Magic because people keep chuckin 3s to brick alley and then get torched out the 131 running either a horns for bird or fist for other shooters
