NBA 2K14 upgrade... in Australia

Hey guys, 2K comes out tomorrow (3rd of October) in Australia.

I'm going to buy an Xbox 1, but I'm wondering if there is an exchange policy (much like in the USA) that will allow me to buy 2K14 on the 360 and then upgrade it when I upgrade my console? I want to play the CG version, but I don't want to spend $80 for a game I'll only use for 5 weeks!

Anyone heard of an upgrade system or am I resigned to playing GTA V for the next 5 weeks until Next Gen?

my mate who works in retails says the game comes with a code inside the packaging saying you can upgrade for 21.99 to the next gen. Seems massively steep for a license to cost 2x more here. bs excuses for increased costs IMO.

Has anyone been able to get an early release in Australia yet?

I wonder if I'll have any luck trying to find it this arvo.

no luck, i've tried most places. I have heard rumors of target in melbourne and brisbane selling it, but no one can give me a store or any proof. Will keep trying later this arvo but it looks like midnight at target or digital download are the only ways you will be getting it early. Really sucks when they put stupid arbitrary dates on games.

It released a day early last year, but I have lower hopes as it came out early on a Thursday. Still, all we need is someone to get a receipt from Target again!
