note to 2k: DON'T TOUCH IT!

Quite literally, this could be the best 2k ever made. While there are some obvious gripes with steals online and the cpu shot clock cheese is in full effect. This could all change if they do what they did last year.

You toned down steals by skyrocketing reach in calls. Issue with the euro step 3? No acrobat in online rosters. Don't like the cpu dominating all the offensive glass? We'll touch it briefly so it's not so agonizing but you still get the 4-5 volley ball reboundsuntil the computer makes a shot.

Rating issues and gear issues are seriously minor. Focus onkeeping 2k14 almost exactly the way it is because it's AWESOME!

Oh, and please let us change our socks in my career. That's not too hard is it?

    BUT OTHER THAN THAT!

    Awesome.

Really? I'm waiting a year on next gen so I'm getting this. I was wondering how good it would be out of the box.

Yeah my issue is 50/50 balls but its been a problem for years now. And the cpu behind the backboard moves.

I think we all need updated rosters and tendencies.

This is the best gameplay 2K has ever had. There are only very minor changes that need to be made... and I can't even remember them off the top of my head. That's how good the game is lol.. This is the most fun I've had playing 2K online in a long time

IMO, 2k14 is the best gameplay experience they gave us ever. All i need from them to work on is the little details. Better crowds/arenas, more things you see in real life. Im sure with PS4 we will get the better visuals alot of people crave, just have to wait untill 11/15 to find out.

I agree with everything other than the reach ins. I think getting steals is way to easy and when I play online I see the defender just continuously swiping away. They get called a fair amount of the time but more often it causes me to lose control of my player and burning a few seconds off the clock.

im sorry but the steals are waaaay to easy its real annyoing to dribble up to the court and have someone spam X just to get the ball stolen away.....

yesterday i played a friend with the heat and he had okc ... it was the last play of the tied up game ... d wade dribbled the ball up the court (no fancy moves) and sefolosha just smacked the ball away and i lost >.< ... 2k needs to fix those steals ASAp

The increased steals are a GREAT addition to the game that I have been asking for since they made that unfortunate patch last year.

The steals are what forces the offensive player to calm down and take care of the ball instead of running around like an NFL running back.

They are the mechanism that enforces a more "sim-style" game.

You need to learn to take care of the ball.

In real life, Dwyane Wade doesn't walk the ball up the floor in a straight line against heavy defensive pressure from a ballhawk like Sefolosha. If he did, the same thing would happen that happened to you in the game.

You must learn to use the protect ball stance, to dribble at angles keeping your body between the ball and the defense, and to use timley, calculated dribble moves in the backcourt to create space and keep the defender moving backwards.

keep the way it is? how about no... The CPU is barely running plays and is attacking the rim to much and doesn't even shoot mid range shots. Bigs are doing post fadeaway shots and making them when it's not even part of their game. The under under cheese lay up needs to go because the CPU does it way to much.

I know what he's talking about...the CPU or even teammates finger tips just pop the ball right out your hand.

Don't dribble so close to them. Make sure you have space when you dribble, and especially when you initiate dribble moves. Pay attention to where you're going.

It all sounds simplistic but it's important. The game is holding you responsible for what you do with the ball -- no more force field around the ball handler.

In real life you have to learn how to keep your handle and protect the ball from the defense before you learn how to get past defenders. In this year's game (just like in 2k12), the same concept applies.

Exactly. Try this in real life: stand in one place dribbling (no fancy moves)and ask a friend to try to take the ball away, then try the same thing except try to keep the defender on your hip.

Great advice. Next time I'll make sure I play one on five so I have space to dribble. How about if I am using someone like KG in the post and I want to do his turn around fadeaway. Should I protect the ball against a defenders hand glitching through KG and to the ball?

I love the way defense has a feel to it and I don't want steals to be turned down to a point where they never occur or where just thinking about stealing is an automatic foul. However, it would be nice to able to take a dribble or two around opposing players (or teammates) and not give up a fast break. Maybe it is just because I play quick match online but people just spam the steal button and no matter what you do to protect the ball you end up losing it all too often.

Yes, steals are super apparent in online games. But what I'm saying is that LAST year they just upped the reach-in calls rather than actually toning down the steal ratio. My point is this is the SAME issue as last year and to let them know NOT to do that.

Also, listen to these other people because they're absolutely right.

Except for when it regards online play. lol
