    Newb need D help

OK I am like almost new to the game. In 2k11 I played a ton of myplayer but that was about it and nothing last year.

Picked this up thought I was hero and played on I dunno All Star or Superstar and go hosed. Went back down to Rookie, too easy, stepped up won a game now lost to Heat.

Anyhow in all modes I cannot stop anyone on D it is bad. I know LT pressure D and not, laying off but I still seem so slow. I use the Spurs and give up like 50 points in the point in a 6 min quarter game.

Any tips that I can save some sort of dignity with?

Don't just hold LT...it takes some time to get a feel of when to use it and not to, but I use LT+RT. When closing out, don't hold LT right away until you get in position. I like to use RS in the paint or if I know they are about to shoot it.

It is about anticipating and beating your man to the spot rather than trying to slide and react. If you come out with your hands up, holding LT they will burn you. Sag off mediocre shooters for better help defense.

Look up some videos on YT for NBA 2k defense.

Also use your preset settings on the D-pad....
Pressure shooters-plays tight on ball and denies off ball with no help def
Constant Pressure-tight on everyone, moderate/tight off ball with some help defense and doubling on drives (this is my fav)
Protect paint-Sags off everyone and has tons of help defense
Focus on Superstars-double teams their best players
Coach default-goes by the defensive settings that you can manually adjust in the pause menu.
