Why bring back crew for one year?

I'm sorry if it has been discussed before, but why would 2k bring back crew mode, only to ax it in the NG version of the game? It seems like a waste of work to me. Do you think they have another variant of the mode, just with a different name? Or will there be nothing like crew mode all together?

I don't know if you've heard, but crew mode was put in the game in the last second. 2k wasn't even planning to have it in, that's why it pretty much is blacktop with leaderboards.

Oh really? That's a disappointment. I was kind of hoping that they added it as a bare bones version of another mode that would be on NG. But it seems like they added it just to sell copies of the CG game.

Let's just hope the NG has something that is better than the so called crews mode in the current gen.

I would even be happy if they brought back the 2k10/2k11 My Player Pick-Up game.

Yes, this is known. But it does not expressively say that NG does not a mode that is similar. Yes "crew" as it is now is CG only, but that does not mean that a "better" version of "crew" or a "crew-like" mode isn't in NG.

All I want to say is don't assume what will/won't be in NG.

I'm pretty sure no one likes the answer. I remember that it was JW himself that brought us the information of some great new game mode that will come (it wasn't specifically mentioned as Next-gen at the time but obviously is) to 2K14. I'm still hoping that it is some improvement over Crew for next-gen.

I think this is what lawyers call "Begging the question", the OP claims that he knows that Crews has been ruled out for next-gen and asks if we believe that a similar mode will come in its stead. That is what we are discussing.

You however mentioned Crews specifically as you where unaware of the aforementioned picture/ad.

But we are on the same boat now, I think that there is a possibility that a new mode that has some resemblance to Crews will be introduced but I can't be sure. When you spoke to those two community managers did they not mention anything about when that info would be released? I seem to remember end of September but that has already come and passed.

why would a garbage park mode make people forget about crew? as much as they try, it won't. 2k just wants to line it's pockets with money made off "my team", which they know they wouldn't get if crew was around, since it's about a billon times better. half the people wouldn't touch my team if they had the crew option.

I don't get why you call it "garbage" when we know so little about the mode.give it a punchers chance, at least.
