What was your first 2k game? What has always been your go to Game Mode?

With all the new stuff for Next Gen I wanted to get a little nostalgic for the people who have played 2k for over a decade.

My first 2k Game was NBA 2k3 for Xbox. This was the first time I played their original "Franchise" Mode

It wasn't until 2k6 Where I first started playing "The Association" faithfully. They had a few features back then with ticket prices and revenue, but this MY GM mode has taken it to another level. I am extremely happy they have over hauled this mode which is something I look forward to every year when I buy NBA 2K

My Player has always been kind of interesting to me, but it always bores me once you have become a star in the NBA.

Mine was nba fastbreak 98 by visual concept. They had signature moves and authentic arena music on a genesis and playstation 1 game. I then started playing from dreamcast nba 2k all the way up.

My favorite mode is always season mode. I like to replicate the nba season with my favorite team. I miss those days back from nba 2k to nba 2k3 when you played streetball or practice and they played those cool music during the game.
Even the dreamcast nba 2k had great in game music.

2k13 was my first and only basketball, hell sports game, not counting racing games. Started out playing mycareer, then got bored of it and played myteam, then after seeing how nothing in myteam this year worked, im having fun with mycareer.

I was a Live player until NBA 2K8. I've bought every 2k iteration since.

I always play an association, and now I will be playing MyGM.

Was a devout Live player until picking up 2K7 in a Blockbuster bargain bin during the playoffs. I was absolutely stunned how much better it was than Live 07 which I had been playing for many months and was generally impressed with. I always saw 2K on the shelves and perceived it as the "off-label generic discount game".

Seeing how much more realistic their engine and gameplay was made me kind of salty because in college my roommates and I played nothing but Live all night between 2000-04 and now I only wish we had known about 2K at the time. Would have been so much better...

I then bought both basketball games in 08 and it was crystal clear to me then who had the better grasp on moving basketball gaming forward...

My first game NBA game was Live 06 on the PS2, and the next basketball game I bought was 2K9, but I initially was going to buy Live 09 used but 2K was cheaper and ever since I've been playing 2K. I bought 2K11, 2K12 (which I sold because I hated it), 2K13 (which I still play online) and I passed on 2K14.

However, I used to be a big Live fanboy. I remember I really wanted to buy Live 10 because I felt the graphics were really nice even though looking back at it I find them to look too plasticy and shiny. I was also going to buy Elite 11 because the innovation seemed groundbreaking to me (the shooting system, where you dictate where the ball will go based off of how you position the shooting stick) but it ended up getting cancelled so I bought 2K11 on black friday and have been with 2K ever since.

As for my go to mode, my player (which by the way I felt was much deeper in 2K11 than it has ever been with the draft combine and summer circuit, you could go undrafted and play in the D league which was amazing and you really had to grind and build your way up, I'm still proud that I got my my player all the way up to 99 legitimately).

First 2k game was nba 2k2, with iverson on the cover. still remember it today. Damn, that was 2001 too, time flys by so fast. It was the first ever 2k game on PS2 I believe. Just had a dose of nostalgia.

NBA 2K for Dreamcast.
Think I skipped 2K1 and got 2K2. Didn't get another until 2K11. And now will be getting 2K14 for Xbone.

Same, dreamcast versions. Didn't play it again until 2k12 or 2k13.

MyPlayer mode is was got me to try it again. I love those types of modes.

NBA Live 2005 was my first for PSP. Second and Third were NBA Live 09 and NBA 2K10 for PSP. And Fourth and Fifth are NBA 2K11 and 2K13 for PS3.

My first 2K was NBA 2K2. My friend and I were NBA Live players up to that point, but we'd rented Live '02 that year and were wildly unimpressed with their direction. I still have nightmares of their violently shaking backboard:

Anyway, that propelled us to take a risk with NBA 2K2. I'd had my eye on it since its Dreamcast debut but it's tough to take something you played for so long (Live) and exchange it for an unknown. It was awesome though. My first memories are how difficult it was to score and how real it looked. The American Airlines Center felt so authentic, right on down to the right seats on the bench.

NBA 2k2 on PS2. Me and my pops used to go back and forth on that game every single day. But i went to Live from 03-05. Then came back to 2k in 06 an really havent turned back, though I played Live 10.

2k11 was by far my favorite, because of the online league I was a part of. Super competitive, with 30 active users, sim gameplay, no whining, it was great. Went on for like 6 seasons, had the top rated PS3 league on 2ksports.com for a while. I miss those days.

Maybe next gen we can get back to that since Online Leagues are returning.

First 2K game was 2K2 for PS2 that I can remember really well. So many good memories with me and my friends staying up all night having playoff like matchups.

My go to mode before it was took out the game was 24/7 mode, something about that mode when it first dropped in 2K4. From playing in Shawn Kemp's backyard all the way to playing in the ECB, I loved that game mode.
