How do you intercept passes in the passing lanes? (CG)
I'm having a hard time trying to intercept passes in 2K14. In 2K13 I think it was the x button, it was pretty easy to do in '13. Now in 2k14 whenever I try to intercept a pass attempt, it keeps putting me out of position, thus ruining my team defense. What is the proper way to steal or intercept the ball in the passing lanes?Tags: None -

Right stick defense as well. Make sure you're pointing it the direction off the ball as its passed. Your player should jump the passing lane if you time it right.Comment

The way I do it (in MyCareer- default sliders) you have to play just outside the passing lane, if you're too close to the receiver they won't pass him the ball so you have to be in the middle between the ball handler and the potential receiver, then they might try to pass and that's where you come in and tip/steal it. Assuming you're asking about playing vs. the AI, of course. It's 50% timing, 50% correct positioning.Comment

Also you can try and steal the pass into the posted big man by holding either L2/R2 and pressing square…Not sure how effective it is though as I have only tried it a couple of times…
For getting steals in the passing lanes it seems to help if you are playing with a guy with a high steal/D rating… Got 5 steals a couple times with Tony Allen in some games.Comment
