I usually just lower the age because I figured that was the main factor and just kept it in the 20s. Anyone know?

Quick Question
Does anyone know what makes a player retire in Association? Is it age or years played or both? I am wondering when editing a player, what should I lower so they don't ever retire.

Usually players retire in their late 30s in age. Potential also helps with making players not retire I believe. Years pros always varies too since the generated rookies always seem to be juniors/seniors, that's why it's more on age retirement.

Re: Quick Question
The two variables the above poster mentioned (potential and age) but also a variable not editable via the game--peak age (start and end).***1971-72 ABA Roster 2K12 360***

Re: Quick Question
Agreed.
The highest potential players most often retire later.
For some reason 2k also keeps a lot of old bigs around, I've found, despite lower potentials. Dunno about that. Might be peak age as someone was saying, but also wondering if position has something to do with it too.Comment

Re: Quick Question
Thanks for the information guys. Have some created players in association and want to keep them around.
Just seemed like to me, they would end up retiring if their years got to like 11 years even though I was still keeping the age in their 20s. BTW, I am not playing all these games, just a few a season lol.HATE LOSING MORE THAN I LOVE WINNING!
