Re: Crash To Desktop

The folks on the Steam forums found a fix that worked for me! I had to change the properties on the NBA2k12.exe to run in Windows 95 compatibility mode and turn on Run as Administrator. To do that, follow the steps below:

1. Go to your Steamapps/Common/NBA 2k12 folder.
2. Right click on the NBA2k12.exe icon and select properties.
3. Go to the compatibility tab and Select Run this program in compatibility mode for: Windows 95 (note: some on the Steam forums said they got it to work in Vista compatibility mode too. It didn't work for me in anything other than Win95).
4. Where it say Privilege Level check the box for Run this program as an administrator.

I take no credit for any of this! I'm definitely not computer savvy enough to figure this out! =) I'd post a link to thread in the forums on here, but I'm not allowed to post links apparently...

Anyway, I hope this helps! =) Thanks again to the guys on the Steam forums!!

Re: Crash To Desktop

I have just ran into this problem with the game crashing when starting up a game. I thought it might have been something to do with some of the mods I had installed (tighter jerseys, TNT scoreboard, and Darth's photo mod) so I uninstalled and reinstalled on Steam and now vanilla 2k12 keeps crashing when arena's are being loaded. Tried Lyppie's above tips but didn't work. Hmmm.

EDIT: Got it working. Ran performance benchmark and then viola. I noticed that when it was crashing as Damon Bruce was breaking down the game the Press Start to adjust lineups was not showing up, just a little something. Phew, glad to be back up and running!

2 Things, your graphics card is terrible...enough said!

You need a Dual Core or faster, single core processor shouldn't even run anything other than lowest settings.

I guess this would make it three things, boost that ram to 4 DDR2 or DDR5 ram, turbo preferably, but I doubt your motherboard would withstand it.

Re: Crash To Desktop

Had mine crash again last night during MP game at the end of the 3rd quarter, which is the same time it has happened to others. Which leads me to believe it's more a problem with the game then it is system specs.

Having the same issue here. Last three My Player games crashed to desktop before the start of the 4th quarter.

Re: Crash To Desktop

Great so I update Steam and now the game crashes immediately on start up every time yet again.

Less than impressed. I've tried the Windows 95 trick and no joy.

I give up. Please try to release a stable game next year 2K.

Edit: Lol at my over reaction. Run as administrator seems to have fixed it so far.
