if you're dead-set on changing hardware, get the core i3. the celeron is a much weaker cpu (don't pay too much attention to the speed of the processor, the architecture in the core i3 is vastly superior). but as others have mentioned above, some games are just poorly coded ports of console games, and unless you have the system power to brute force a high fps number, you're basically stuck.
