Nvidia Shield (Shadowplay), if you have a Nvidia gfx card you can activate it in the nvidia geforce experience.

You don't need any extra programs. Just use shadowplay for nvidia graphic cards or plays.tv for AMD graphic cards. Both are installed with you graphic cards driver.

It's so annoying and lazy we have to rely on these 3rd party programs to save a simple replay now. I guess the days of having a replay saver and viewer built into the game are gone...

Re: How do you save replays on PC?

I've been using Nvidia Shadowplay, but after upgrading to Windows 10 (which was before NBA 2K17, actually), it seems that game recording is something baked into some sort of Windows gaming software utility that pops up if I press the XBox button on my controller.

Either Fraps or Open Broadcaster Software. Fraps files are HUGE but there's zero quality loss and it's working kinda good. OBS is causing more CPU usage but you're getting way smaller and already compressed files.
