CAP's
I know someone posted Grndynasty's site about his CAPs, but this years CAP setup is alot different for facial features. Anyone know a good site or a post on any other message board that have CAPs for 2005?

Re: CAP's
I think we need to be careful with player ratings this year. EA has really fine-tuned the ratings of players in the context of the teams they play on in order to get realistic statistical results. That's why on the legend teams, a great player like Moses Malone only has a 66 rating -- he'd likely be a role player on THAT team.Comment

No, EA just messed up. Too many incorrect rating problems. Let me give you a comparison of Live 2004's Moses Malone to this year's:Originally posted by durvasaI think we need to be careful with player ratings this year. 2004 2005
---- ----
OVERALL 74 -> 66
DUNK 89 -> 10
PRIMACY 74 -> 73
So what is the big difference this year? Moses is now a big man who can't dunk. Thats the only reason his overall rating is low. Good job, EA. [/sarcasm]NBA 2K18 ratings for several seasons generated from advanced analytics using the SportsCrunch system:

The dunk rating has nothing to do with if they can dunk or not. It has to do with how well they dunk. Players with high dunk ratings are the high flyers like carter, lebron, etc. The big men can still dunk just fine but you wont see them doing reverses or anything like that.Originally posted by SonicmageNo, EA just messed up. Also, the overall means absolutely nothing. The way EA determines it is a bit messed up because it takes ratings the player doesnt even use into account. In Malone's case a low 3 pt rating can bring his overall down significantly even though it doesn't really matter.Comment

Unless this has changed from 2004, Dunk rating certainly determines if they can dunk or not. It helps determine the dunk package rating, what dunks and/or layups they can perform. I'll get back to you on this when the PC version comes out and I can take a look through the databases.Originally posted by camulosThe dunk rating has nothing to do with if they can dunk or not. They have to keep it that way. This isn't football where there are certain abilities that a certain position just wont attempt. Linemen wont try to kick a field goal, for instance. This is not the case in basketball. There are centers who can hit the 3-point shot. There are centers who can pass. There are point guards who can rebound and block shots. This does make the player more valuable if they can do it or less valuable if they cant do it, too. All ratings have to count for everybody.Also, the overall means absolutely nothing.
