Backcourt Violation?!?!?!?!
OK so Im inbounding the ball in the 4th quarter down 2 and the defense is swarming. I pass it out to Francis past half court and they call it a backcourt? Is this some new rule in the NBA or is this an error in programming?Tags: None -

I could be wrong, but I think it has to be within 2 minutes for you to be able to pass it in the backcourt, that is if you are inbounding from inside the half-court line.Originally posted by FromtheBaselineOK so Im inbounding the ball in the 4th quarter down 2 and the defense is swarming. e. Any ball out-of-bounds in a team's frontcourt or at the midcourt line cannot be passed into the backcourt. On all backcourt and midcourt violations, the ball shall be awarded to the opposing team at the midcourt line, and must be passed into the frontcourt.
EXCEPTION: During the last two minutes of the fourth period and/or any overtime period, the ball may be passed anywhere (frontcourt or backcourt) on the court.
