Here comes my annual reminder, but it needs to be said this year more than ever. It would be a HUGE mistake to write off Live 10 this year based off of screenshots, preview videos, and Live's previous reputation. For the guys on the fence, I only ask that you get your hands on the game and try it for yourselves. Because the game really shines once you learn the new mechanics and play with all the teams... which is something you won't even get from the demo unfortunately. But if you give it a chance, and you're at all a fan of NBA basketball, you will love the game. And even with its rough edges (most of which we hope to still address), it really is an incredible b-ball sim, both as a single player experience against the AI as well as multiplayer. You'll just have to take my word for it for now.

Wow, now that got me pumped... Really, october can't come soon enough this year...

I remember ID had beat up graphics (now those really looked like painted art graphics), but the gameplay oushined both Live and 2k by a mile.

You didnt notice it off bat but once you played about 12 games or so, you saw the substance of the gameplay and it rocked. It was a preclude to NBA 2k honestly because they had the team playbooks and all of that in there, completely astounding off the ball movement, and smart adjusting AI.

Im inclined to see if this game will do the same

OK back from work and I can tell you what I think:

Really really great. I love how it looks I love how it moves and I absolutely love the presentation details (Cavaliers bench, pre game ritual etc.).

I know this sounds stupid but I just hope that 10 will keep the strenghts of 09 which is Help D and spacing. Varejos Help D on Carter came too late

I really wasnt expecting much but Im really looking forward to playing it right now. Still not 2K animation level but close. Thx for putting it out now we need gameplay videos

Mike's word on the gameplay being good this year..?? Yes it does

Really get the feelin live can be completely back this year. On the other hand it has to be this year, I think people will not buy another unbalanced and crappy Live with all promises made ahead of its release..

The presentation looks good (crowd, bench, pre-game rituals) but graphically it looks like its a last-generation game.

I thought the exact same thing. Like I said somewhere else this game looks to have that unfolding enjoyment where the more you play the better it gets. Which is the reverse of old lives where you see all the new stuff right up front then...BAM ...its over... your bored looking for something else to play...

I don't think the gentlemens here have fully wrapped their heads around the fact that they gave Super B the green light on gameplay. Think about that... The one guy who is attached to some of the best gameplay we have played be it ID or 2K and they gave him the rock and cleared out....

Yeah, getting assurances like that from Mike Wang is something that eases my mind. I love games that get deeper and more satisfying as you play them, and I think that this year's Live will be like that, even if some might be underwhelmed initially. The evolution of Dynamic DNA is the biggest reason for my thinking, because the potential there is just incredible, especially considering they'll have authentic playbooks for the first time ever. The playcalling system last year was amazing, so the evolution of that and all the other new data they were able to implement should make the nuts and bolts of the game very tight.

I thought Marcus told Mike was already aboard during Live 09, but wasn't involved in the gameplay of 09. He was focusing on 10 from the beginning, so that would give him something towards 2 years... Not completely sure when exactly Mike joined EA, but I believe he is working for more than 1 year on Live 10..
