    Player Shooting Ratings?

I'm a little confused on player shooting ratings. For instance I see a rating "3PTL" and its description is "likeliness that a player attempts a 3 pointer". Now am I right in believing thats his tendency to take a 3 pt shot and if so where are the ratings for the ABILITY to make the shot?

    thanks

I was going to ask this as well.

I am 100% its tendency, for instance Artest shots tons of treys, so his stat is 97. Doesn't mean he is the best shooter in the league though.

I had this same question. I'm still a little unclear but I believe this is the correct answer. You need to go to the dynamic DNA screen and get to the shooting %s. This will tell you all kinds of info. Their tendancies in addition to their jumpshots and post up %s. I believe it's because all shooting is based on the player's DNA and the likelihood he nails a shot. It's hard to get used to but it is pretty cool. Especially considering DNA is supposed to "evolve" or change with in dynasty, not just stay the same.

The others are right in that 3PTL is the likelihood of the player taking that shot, and the shooting ratings are gone, you want to look at the DNA scouting report and scroll over to jumpshot success to see how well that player shoots.

I think the hotzones would be helpful this year, I wish there was at least an option to bring those up again.

What happens when the player has a N/A in his jumpshot DNA? People who were out all year like agent 0 have that...also in dynasty, how does one improve his shooting? I sim'ed a season with the Warriors and all of Steph Curry's DNA stayed the same...

The DNA shooting % is what you will need to go by.

The DNA ratings, are all tendency, and physical attributes based. There are no more shooting ratings.

            It's about time, really.

I hope they never go back to numerical based shooting ratings

              ^^^^^^

Yeah, it's all percentage based which includes where you are on the floor, if a shot is contested, etc. Apparently there's a step back three bug online, but percentage based "ratings" are long overdue.

Those ratings are taken directly from percentages. But feel free to say the devs are wrong too. All the shooting is taken from real life percentages and probably has to be translated into a rating for create a player.

c'mon man dont take my post personally, but those ratings were the same since live 07 & 08 to be honest most of them have not changed

You are wrong. I don't take it personally, but you are contradicting the people who developed the game as well as many who have played it and seen differently. Ignorance is bliss I guess. Maybe a dev could post in this thread to confirm again.
