This year, we set extremely ambitious goals for our new franchise, NBA ELITE. We are creating a game that will introduce several breakthrough features that have been missing from the basketball genre. Unfortunately, NBA ELITE 11 is not yet ready and we have made a decision to delay next month’s launch. We are going to keep working until we’re certain we can deliver a breakthrough basketball experience.

Wow. I guess it makes sense. I think it is a good business move. It would be better to have a more polished product when you are trying to create a new brand. Especially, when it's NBA "Elite".

man, this is exciting honestly. I think this is definitely the right move. No need to rush this, it's clear the development team ran out of time with what they wanted to do. I can honestly say that our voices have been heard by EA. No joke!

Man man man. You beat me to the punch by literally 30 sec. In a way I'm really really really upset about this. I was looking forward to this game after turning in two college papers Monday. With this said, it just had to be all that negativity when it wasn't necessary. People's comments basically forced them to hold off. THEN AGAIN......what could this mean for next year. Will this give them a chance to be on par with 2k or maybe pass them? Who knows, who knows.


Still PISSED! lol. But I really think this game will be polished by next year when it comes to graphics, animations, more and better control including adding in the fake passes. lol. SMART MOVE. As much as I don't really prefer 2k, I guess I have to play a updated basketball game. No old Live10 with updated rosters and stuff for me. I really can't wait to see how big of a difference this game will be. A whole two years right here is what we're talking about if not mistaken. This is something else.

Wonder what KD is thinking. lol.

I've played the DEMO a hell of a lot and the thing that just keeps jumping out at me is that it's a BETA.

I've tried to be very fair in judging it...and there are some good, innovative things in it.

But it's simply not close to being a finished product.

Good decision to delay it. I wouldn't be surprised if it's not even released until Elite 12 to be honest. I don't think they'd want to risk damaging the whole 'Elite' brand by releasing a bad product.

I am not surprised. I been telling people for a week now, if EA brass feels this game will flop, they will recall it, like they did Madden years ago. From a business stand point, it is a smart move, expensive one if they have to buy back all those games that shipped to stores, but hey, if something isn't right, you got to do what you got to do.

Hope they just incubate things for Elite 12 as opposed to a spring release. I do think that for more feedback, they should send some copies to guys in the community to get some quality back & forth.

I really like this idea. Hopefully they can iron out the bugs and flesh out the physics engine. Now I'm really excited to see the finished product next year

This is a good idea. I don't know how much "better" then can make the game at this point. So far it's a disaster. And for all the guys who were saying it wasn't, I think this pretty much proves it was not a game that was ready to satisfy the customer or compete with 2k. I'm not sure this will be enough to prevent the series from being canceled. Come to think of it, I wouldn't be surprised if they just cut their loses and scrap the series altogether. Lets face it, they should have stayed the track they were on last year, instead of trying to reinvent their franchise. It didn't need a reinvention! It needed a few solid improvements on what it already was. Good luck Live/Elite. I'd thrown in the towell on Elite, but if you can turn things around, I'd personally give it another shot.
